Those funny leather jackets.
OK so I am sitting at the gate waiting on flight home. Up walks a pilot from another airline with a leather jacket on. Now Personally I do not like the leather jacket look but what the heck. Anyway this pilot has his epaulets on the outside..(as many do...again not a choice I would make) He takes off the jacket and is wearing one of those pilot sweaters. He has his epaulets on the sweater as well. It is a warm day and I am dying to see if he rips off the sweater so I can see if he will have a third pair of epaulets on his shirt.

Well lo and behold he does...and sure enough he has on a total of 3 pairs of epaulets! Sorry I just have to call dork on that one.

i bet if you would be him, you would only have one pair, so when you flew south and wanted to take of a layer, you would be also replacing your one pair of stripes.......that would look dumb....seriously....

I agree 100% - kook wannabe. He most likely has tatooed stripes on his shoulders. BTW - What airline was he with? And was he wearing his hat?

Leather Jackets with epaulets...............not a good look.
Sweaters with epaulets................NEVER.

Epaulets belong on the shirts only. Unless you work at JB.

Cool thing about the London Fog is that you can go flashing on your overnights. Plus it looks better with blue jeans and tennis shoes. Let's hear a shout out to the trench coat mafia. Peace.

I am guilty of wearing the shirt, sweater, and leather jacket at the same time (not to mention thermals). Try sitting in a turboprop in Burlington VT with no APU at -24 C. Unfortunatly, I could not affort a 3rd pair of bars for the sweater. Perhaps if it is so uncool, I will stop by the coat factory everyone talks about in Burlington. The flasher coat may be the next layer.

i wore a sweater so i could wear a conventional button down since all my other shirts were dirty. that way i wouldn't have to wear bars. sometimes i didn't wear underwear either. once i fixed my worn out shoes with us air packing tape since the sole delaminated with two out n backs to go.

got a pair at walmart for five dollars.

this is pretty much where we're at.

flying an airliner.......so easy a caveman could do it.
