What about all those bumper stickers that say "God is my co-pilot." I guess they were full of it.

I think someone should print up stickers that say "Chuck Norris is my co-pilot."

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964:

SEC. 2000e-2. [Section 703]

(a) It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer -

(1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or
otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his
compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of
such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin

A pilot needs to have faith in his/her abilities. That's what gets the rubber back on the ground. Religion doesn't enter into the mix.

The religious service attendance requirement is blatantly illegal.

I wonder if it is. If it is not illegal for a corporation to require a pilot to attend company functions when on the road, why would it be illegal to attend a church service (a company function) when on the road?

They just require that you be in the room. It doesn't mean you have to participate in the services.

I'm no lawyer but I'm sure that one could have a field day. What if the ad said must attend Mosque service and Quran class?

It didn't say you have to be a Christian, it said you have to attend the services.

How about this: If the job requirements offend you.....DON'T APPLY!

That makes the most sense. People don't like feeling like they're forced to meet a requirement, but have no problem pushing their agenda on others. If you don't want to hang out with a certain group, don't go where they are, problem solved.

Speaking of the Televangelist Air Force...

Did any of you DFW guys see this report last week on WFAA (ch. 8) about Kenneth Copeland and his Citation that was bought CASH by his supporters and how he's been using it for his personal vacations after swearing to Jesus Himself that it wouldn't be used for anything except "Spreading the Word"? Apparently, spreading the word includes hunting trips and vacations in Hawai'i.

It's one thing to have your faith, whatever that may be. It's a whole 'nother thing to bilk the uneducated into buying your private jet and your personal airport (4T2) in the name of any deity...

Had a pax the other day getting snotty because we were going to make him late for church. I instructed the F/A to inform him that god was flying the plane and I said it's o.k.

Some Musslim will become offended with the requirements. File suit and the church will be shut down.
