Go run as fast as you can. It is much more fun flying with UPS pilots. Its even better working for a company that is 50% management pilots so they have a built in strike breaking group on the property.

Both are good companies. I don't think you could make a mistake on that choice. I have flown cargo, and liked it, but life is very different there. You usually hang out in a remote part of the airport, without restaurants, flying at strange hours and you don't see many people. With the internet, cargo is very stable and UPS is an excellent company. Of course, so is SWA. I think I would stick with the bird in the hand.

I also have a friend at UPS, and he has been through three training events in his first year. What a great way to get through probation! Anyway, these days, any airline you go to could be the best thing ever, or the next one to go under. Who knows. Personally, I would pick SWA.

Good luck.

What works best for your QOL? Will one or the other enable you to live in base, if that's important. What are your interests?

With UPS, you potentially will have quite a bit of different flying all over the world. Not much variety at SWA.

But certainly nothing to get too worked up over till you have a class date.

good luck

What ever decsion you make you will know in 5-10 years if you made the right choice. Remeber the SWA guys who left for UAL/DAL/NWA/AAL in 2001?

I have very little time at SWA and offered UPS interview. If hired what do you think

The fact that you posted this in LCC/Nationals proves that you are a poser and that this is nothing but flame. Sierra-Tango-Foxtrot-Uniform!

SW is a LCC/National. What is the big deal. I think he is serious and not flame baiting.

I had a friend that was in a similar situation - stay at CAL or go to UPS.

He took UPS.

If you leave SWA for UPS, be prepared for a corporate culture shock.

I guess it was.

You asked for it:

You're fired.

Yea W, and from what I hear you are afraid of Nancy Pelosi. Come on Georgie Boy, she can't weigh more than a buck-five soaking wet and she's like 64-years old. Grow a pair and tell her how redicioulous it is that she thinks she needs a BBJ or a 757 everywhere she flys.

Well, do you enjoy the Southwest flying schedule of 4-6 flights per day or would you prefer longer flights? Both are great airlines and you probably can't lose with either.

If married and a family guy - Go to UPS FAST!! No chance of ending up in one of those little hotties hotel room. More likely you'll be in a much safer place - like say....Thailand, or maybe China.

Hehehehehehe

Baja.

You had very little time at Frontier too...

I think u need to think about what you REALLY WANT TO DO. The solution to your problem isnt JUMPING ship every time you think there is a better opportunity. Plant yourself at SWA and enjoy.

You are a GOOD interviewer. Youll probably get hired at UPS. But let me make a prediction, you wont be happy there either!

Someone gave me this advice: There will always be someone MORE SENIOR TO YOU THAT IS YOUNGER and there will always be someone MAKING MORE MONEY THAN YOU.

Good Luck with your QUEST to find the "ULTIMATE JOB"!

Can you handle flying only the FLUF for the rest of your life

Personally being at SWA would be a death sentence, only flying the 73 for the rest of my life and working that many legs in the same old bird forever would be boring........

I think personally I would go to UPS fly the world and change A/C types every few years to keep it fresh and fun.

It is all about QOL. Lets all remember it is still a job. No matter where you go it will be fun at times and s#ck at times. Look at your personal situation. Where you live, do you like the 737 (forever). Do you even like the toads behind the door. Can you put up with staying awake all night until your seniority will get you day trips.

If it were me I would go to UPS. But I am just a dumb frieght dog.............

Yeah change airplanes every few years when you realize your not getting any better in the one your in....be a jack of trades and never a master. Like I said on page one....Run don't walk off the property now...we only need pilots that want to be here.

I really need to learn to logout when posting in the pilot lounge .... lots of bad things could happen.....

Don't worry I took care of you buddy.

The SWA stews look hotter in their tight shorts than the UPS delivery people in their shorts. That being said, if I had the choice I would vote for UPS and get on domestic 757/767 and just sit. You can always go international later. However, I have heard a large percentage of newhires will go to ANC and fly either the MD11 or the 747-400. If you want some 400 time then go to UPS. Get that time and then bid the 757/767 domestic and sit.

Let us know what you pick. Then be done with it.

I thought UPS was only interviewing pilots with transoceanic experience? Anyway good luck in the interview and let us know how it went. UPS is my first choice when they start to hire for domestic again.
