Because they don't really have a plan......just pi$$in in the wind and hoping for the best.

The Atlanta-based airline said the extension — its fourth such request — from April 16 to June 1 is necessary because a confirmation hearing on its Chapter 11 plan is scheduled for April 25, after the current deadline.

You beat me to it.

How convenient...
When is the BK Judge going to say "Enough is Enough"?
I'm tired of them (and others) hiding behind their BK protection. This is not what the laws were designed to do.

Never, because the BK judges have been bought and paid for and are doing whatever management asks...

Hmmm, should be interesting with fuel prices rising........... I see another round of concessions!

Somebody is going to have to fund Grinstein's going away party. Time to chip in guys! How's a 15 percent pay cut sound?? That should be enough!

Here's a little excerpt from a recent Flt Ops message you might be interested in. Also BK exit will be shortly after Apr 25th.

FROM FLT OPS A message to Delta pilots

"Your pay rates have and will continue to increase, with future pay increases in amounts determined based on the operating margin of the Company. In addition, the proceeds of the $650 million note that was negotiated last spring will be allocated by ALPA to each of you soon and your $2.1 billion claim is predicted to yield substantial value precisely because of the market’s recognition of Delta peoples’ efforts. The Company also plans to continue to grow profitably, a strategy that we are pleased has enabled us to offer recall to all furloughed pilots and to begin hiring pilots for the first time in five years."

Now there's a loophole big enough to drive a 767 through. Those beancounters can get pretty creative.

Heyas,

Actually, NWA also announced that they are delaying their plan EXACTLY at the same time as DAL announced they were delaying theirs.

I guess they need a bit more time to coordinate with each other the press release for the merger.

Hey slob scum.
Maybe we could be like doogie. Beg the doj so we can get our application to fly somewhere where we don't have planes or crews to do it!
Is that why the creditors saw through your dumbass ceo's lack of a plan?
Maybe your pathetic airline should start to worry about customer service (or lack there of).
Have another twinkie sport!

Except for the fact that there are minimum pay raises throughout the 3.5 year duration of the contract. Additional pay raises, above and beyond those contractually guaranteed depend on the pre tax profits.

Even after all these concessions, not even including our contractually guaranteed pay raises, we still make more than LCC.:D

Or, both airlines filed for BK on the same day and exclusivity periods, by law, happen to be issued in the same block number of calendar days, therefore each airline has had the same exclusivity periods throughout the bankruptcy process.

Waah.

737...I have really liked about 90% of every DL pilot I've met. Down to earth, hard-working, and genuinely concerned for the aviation industry in general. Like the old saying goes, however, every company has their 10%, and you strike me as someone who falls squarely in that category. You throw around insults like some spoiled little kid, and can't take any sort of criticism or negative comments. Maybe I'm way off base about you, I hope for the sake of most of your co-workers that I am...

Remind me to never ever make any negative comments towards Delta. BTW, hurry up and raise your pay, ours has no where to go until you do!;)

I am in agreement about the whole pay thing on the 190. It seems to be slowly heading in the right direction, along with a few other things that need fixing around here. What amuses me are those who bash others and then go and ratify their own massive pay cuts. My comment was made in jest, which is often lost over the internet. I used that line when I was "bumped" off a jumpseat a while back. The pig in the mud thing comes to mind when this topic comes up, so I think I'll bow out. FYI, I just turned down a recall that would have resulted in a 6 figure paycut. But that was my fault right...

Hi Bill. Thanks for the response. If you recall you have already asked me this question and I have already answered it. Do you not remember(likely)or is this all you can come up with(more than likely).
