Hi,

I have been called for an interview, and was curious what the newhires are getting awarded these days. Is there a good chance a newhire could hold IAH?

Thanks!

Yes. Currently newhires are going to EWR (737,756,777) or IAH (737 only). According the the last bid, they're short a few FO's in CLE and GUM, but they haven't offered those slots to the newhire classes yet.

Thanks Ex73,

Also, does anybody know roughly how quick one can expect to go to class if the interview goes well?

Thanks for the info.

About 30 days from interview date until you start class...that's according to some line guys at CAL and K.D.J.

I was a newhire in early December - 2 slots were awarded to CLE out of training.

How long did it take from the time you sent in your application to the time of the interview?? Good luck on your interview!!!:)

I am currently in training at CAL- I know that there was a couple of Guam slots available within the last couple of weeks- they were not forced on anyone though. If there are Guam slots available there has to be 2 poeple that want to go not just 1- I guess they are awarded in pairs. Also, there have been 777 slots awarded to new hires for the last several weeks- 2 guys in my class got the 777 EWR.

Took me about 5 weeks from interview to class date- been here almost a month and as of 2/6 I will have almost 60 people junior to me!!

So is it safe to say that if you actually want EWR than you will get it? Has anyone bid EWR and then was awarded something else?

My class had 9 EWR 737, 6 IAH 737 and 2 EWR 777. IAH has been available for just about every class in the recent couple of months.

Wanting Newark? I never thought I would hear those words.

If you were to get IAH and wanted ERW you can put in for a base change. You should have no problem finding some one to go EWR to IAH. It would be harder to find some one who wants to go IAH to EWR and that's because of all the XJ guys who already live in Houston when hired. It takes about three months for a base trade to go through, in that time a new bid may come out. I was hired in Oct 05 to EWR and was in IAH in March 06. Three months of training meant only 2 months in EWR.

Your results may vary. Good luck.
