Guys, just take a look at what has been going on at Air Whiskey. Huge concessions to supposedly win flying. They lost it anyway and started for US Air at the concessionary rates that were used for the United bid. Pilots filed a grievance against it because they lost the United bid (that's what the concessionary package was for, not US Air).

The arbritrator just ruled in the pilots favor. This means massive retro checks for every pilot. The ALPA system works. In a non union enviroment, management would have just continued to pocket the pilots concessionary money every year. And those pilots wouldn't have been able to do a thing about it, EVER.

Give management the right concessions and they will agree to anything. Mesa proved this. They gave up pay to get the scope clause that they have which ensured that Mesa would not transfer all their flying to Freedom. Never say never.
 
Guys, we need to stop arguing with each other. It's time to work together and build relationships between the two pilot groups. Bickering like this will solve nothing. No one has "stolen" anyone's flying.

That would be great if both carriers recieved additional growth. However, in no way does that reduce the need to combine the seniority lists. Think long term. If we remain seperate, we are giving mgmt (Pinnacle Corp) a big whacking stick for whipsaw. Nobody needs to be harmed, everyone can win.

One seniority list (and a new contract)--- NOW.

Not exactly correct.

PINNACLE AIRLINES CORP purchased 15 Q-400's.

PINNACLE AIRLINES CORP signed an agreement with Continental Airlines to provide feed for Continental with these Q-400's. In doing this, Continental agreed to purchase ALL the seats on ALL flights in these Q-400's.

PINNACLE AIRLINES CORP will operate these Q-400's with Colgan Airlines pilots.

Direct Scope violation.

I think I mentioned something like this would happen about 2 weeks ago. More need for a union now than ever.

Colgan pilots are on the profiting end THIS TIME. Next time, you might not be so lucky.

Unions are an unfortunate necessity in the airline world. Made so by greedy management and, sometimes, even greedy pilots who would circumvent seniority if it meant them getting ahead.

Unions protect you more than you could ever protect yourself. They're not perfect, but they ARE necessary.
 
Pinnacle guys. If uncle phil wanted badly to get q400's for the pinnacle guys how long would it take him to get one on property in terms of you guys having negotiated payrates for them?
 
I really wonder if certain people on this board are actual LINE pilots and acutally get away from FI.com for 20 minutes and have a life. The same 7 or so people get one shred of new info. and are IMMEDIATELY on here to whine and bitch about it.

Stop coming on this sight and deteriorating my eyesight with your endless ranting, whining, cynical BS. If you're pissed about the state of affairs, what the hell is bitching on FlightInfo.com gonna do for ya? Get away from your laptop for 5 whole minutes, and pick up a phone.

Grow a pair and go to your union rep or whoever if you wanna take care of business.

Many of "those same guys" ARE union reps... LOL

They're on here because often this is a first source of information, not to mention a way to get out some of their frustrations. It *might* also be a way to have fun with people like you who get upset by it.

So, in other words, wwwwaaaaaahhhhhh. If you don't like it, don't read it.

1984 was aite, but 5150 is the bomb. Every time i preflight the plane i listen to Dreams on my ipod. "Higher and Higher straight up we'll climb!" Oh yeah baby! listen to it with your bomber jacket and aviator sunglasses. collar up of course.
 
Whoahhhhhhhhh hold up a second. 1984 is totally better than 5150 or OU182 or anything else. David Lee Roth was 10 times better than mister i can't drive 55 hagar. I want to see the new tour with Wolfgang in it and david lee roth
 
You listen to Dreams when you pre-flight? You must be from Embry Riddle. My pre-flight song collection includes. Nine inch nails ( i want to f you like an animal), El Debarge ( Who's Johnny?) (From Short Circuit), NKOTB (hanging tough) , THe Theme song to the knight rider, and Sesame Street's sing along ABC ablum(totally underrated)

I also listen i'm to sexy for my saab, so sexy it hurts. I'm a pilot you know what i mean as i do my little turn in the jetway, in the jetway, in the jetway yeah i shake....wait we don't use jetways nevermind....higher and higher
