ahh but the endless pool of the willing is drying up.

I can assure you that the PCL management cannot grasp this fact. I am not disagreeing with your but I know the BUFFOONS at Noncomprehenda Blvd all to well. They won't fiqure that one out until all the planes at PCL and at Colgan are parked for lack of crews........

what are the risks that an employee would run if they participated in trying to get a union on property? in the past everyone knew that you would pretty much get fired if you seriously got involved with trying to get a union

Don't take the risk.....drop me a note and I can explain how it can be done with minimum exposure to your pilots..... Believe it or not I REALLY WANT TO HELP YOU GUYS......

Usually it takes some people on property to spearhead an effort. History has proven that that is not safe at your airline. That makes it a somewhat daunting task to be upfront and open.... There are plenty of ways to pull it off.

For the record... you cannot be fired for organizing....but it is difficult to prove when they trump something up on you..... the hardest thing to defend yourself against is something that never actually happened..... the facts are controlled by the prosecution ....

Professionally yours,

Well said n32. Those points are very important. When the original Express pilots tried to organize, the old Mike Brady management got a lot of false accusations up and running real quick. They tried their best to fire those that spearheaded the campaign, but it never worked out.

Be careful about what and who you might be talking to around the crew room. PCL management will spend HUGE sums of money to keep any union activities from occurring on your property.

As an example, in 2001 the ramp crews were attempting to organize. Management went into a full campaign to stop their attempts. They actually rented BB King's bar on Beale Street for a full professional video advertisement against the union. They had a professional band and had written an anti-union song. If it wasn't true it would have been really funny. Who knows what the total cost was, and that was just one of many angles they tried at swaying people's opinions.

They will go to any length to keep ALPA or whoever off the Colgan property. Good luck guys.

I have an idea how about we squash the union talk. I am sure mgmt reads these boards. The wheels are turning we don't need to talk about it in a public forum.

i hear what you are all saying but management can't find out about teamsters because they promised it was all confidential

Because if we (meaning PNCL AND Colgan pilots) don't do something about it, they will be able to whipsaw us forever. New planes for DELTA? Who is going to fly for the least? It will go on forever. Don't believe that they will leave Colgan props/Pncl Jets indefinetly.

Turbo

PNCL pilots, as a cjc guy, I for one, will hurt, if you hurt. I will not stand for this ish. I hope we can work toghether to stop this.

I understand you have an idea. but everything you mentioned would be an improvement for us. So you can imagine that the "it is gonna get worse" notion is laughable for a colgan pilot. Do I think it should be better...heck yes. Despite all Im still happy at Colgan. I would love to be happier. Leta all work together and make us both happier. no rash decisions should be made tho.

Actually, I would expect that they might try to find some minor IMPROVEMENTS (ones that would cost them little or no money) while chanting a mantra of see you don't need any representation to deal with us....once you fell for it ........the true ****(feces)********* hammer from hell would come down...maybe 6 months maybe a year,,,, it's coming boys....be VERY wary of the anti-christ that will proceed it......

First prediction........

"After analyzing the rest of the industry and listening to feedback from the pilots, we have decided that the hat will be optional"

Be afraid of the little concessions you will start to see. As soon as union talk is dropped, they will go away.

I think we do get it. we will protect ourselves. we dont' want to be part of pcl alpa

Well based on the PCL scope language, you may not have any choice in the matter. It will eventually be up to the courts to decide. I have no interest in any Colgan flying. BUT if any new equipment bought and paid for by the sweat of PCL pilots shows up on Colgan property...based on the INTENT of the scope language PCL pilots have negotiated with PCL. Those are the right of a COMBINED seniority list. I am willing to burn down BOTH houses,,,, PCL and Colgan to see that happens.

PNL pilot sweat that money is from Mainline NorthWest pilot sweat PNL is a fee for departure airline that is and always was subsidized by NorthWest Mainline. When all those little jets got there who do you think paid for them.

N32jk:

You are just as bad as a scum bag lawyer. "My flying, my sweet" Dude you sound like a little girl. Listen man, we bust our ass just as hard as you if not more since you have your little cushy scope clauses and rest periods..... If we our to get bigger airplanes with the backing of some bank named Pinnacle then so be it. We are not taking your flying. You don't even know how a turboprop sounds from up front. So why the fuss? Your disregard for the efforts of Colgan pilots over the last 30 years in place of your paper clause is so shallow. If your bank wants to back us and fly bigger airplanes that is great, how does that effect you? You will still fly your RJ and o yeah work in OUR markets which we built. If someone were to be ticked off it should be us. Now you guys gain access to our markets, our sweet our struggles. Have we ever stated that we would rather burn down both houses? No that is because we are rational people making rational decisions. As you talk the talk and hide behind your BS contracts that management will never approve know this: I don't think you will ever meet a Colgan pilot who has the attitude as unsecure as yours.

Call me uneducated etc.... but I will simply tell you that you are wrong and there is nothing you can do about it except talk about your little scope clauses which your management will never approve.

May be...but Express Airlines I, Inc. later named PCL never flew any aircraft in violation of Republic Airlines (the original one) and Northwest Airlines pilots scope provisions. They negotiated the rights for smaller aircraft to their management to be flown by contractors. Good or bad decision, it is one that they made. PCL pilots negotiated in good faith that any equipment flown by PCL or any successors would be flown by pilots on the PCL seniority list. Now fence it any way you want. But one seniority list is what PCL management agreed to. Now PCL corp is little more than an cheap parlor trick to avoid an agreement they entered into, in what now appears to be BAD FAITH........You can jump into whatever diatribe that you like, I make no bones about who paid for these aircraft......I think any NW pilot should be equally concerned about these moneys now being shifted to fly feed for competitors.......The NW pilots are holding firm on scope with XJ, I hope they work out something that is equitable for both parties. I am just saying...sign a contract and live up to it ..... to managements..... Pilots are fed up with this sh#$%

Prop2jet

I have a vague memory of what tubo props sound like...I have over 17 thousand hours of turbprop time......PCL management already agreed to this and now are welshing on a deal with a cheap parlor trick called PCL corp.

Call me names, use childish language,,,but scope is a serious issue. I am certain this will be decided by the courts....I for one intend on voicing my desires to our MEC to carry this one to the limits.....

Anyone who say DUDE is probably not mature enough to be a captain.
GROW UP

what happens if all the rumors become true

Colgan gets Q 400
PNL gets CRJ 900

Would it not help both to stay apart

I can understand why both pilot groups have concerns....but i dont think arguing is helping either one of our causes. We (colgan) have brought you 3 additional codeshares and we are profitable. Colgan has been working on ways to get q400's or saab 2000's since summer. hmmmm sounds like each has something to offer. Colgan pilots aren't sending threats to pinnacle pilots, but i would consider some of the pinnacle pilots comments as threats. We should be working together for both pilot groups, not getting told "BUT if any new equipment bought and paid for by the sweat of PCL pilots shows up on Colgan property..." we didnt choose to be bought, if larger planes show up on colgan property those are the result of OUR sweat and YOUR sweat!! Dont forget that Colgan may be a great investment for YOUR company. You= Northwest Airlines........Colgan= US, United, and Continental. I dont think anyone should claim that it was only their sweat. BTW i say Dude a lot and have been a captain for quite a while =)
