Someone told me that you guys wear double breasted jackets because you needed a place to put all of the medals:laugh: .

No, because chicks dig them.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Actually it was because we needed a place to hold our over stuffed wallets!

I guess the key word is needed. I hear JCpenney has a good fanny pack on sale. Keep the hope alive...one day you will all have it back...we hope. Take Care

Wait till the ankle length double breasted leather coats hit ATL.... can you say Achtung Baby!

I think the double breasted jacket is classy but their origin stems from confederate navy roots. I might be mistaken.

Military holdover.

I'm pretty sure its a holdover from all the military guys.

Delta use to hire 90%+ military in the 70s/80s. I remember seeing the stats from the old propagandist FAPA publications.

What about pinning your names and wings to your shirts?

Do you all still do that...
What a pain the #SS.

I'm pretty sure its been our uniform since the 1930s. And yes, we still have all the fancy pins.

Truth be known, we all have a breast-fetish...the more breasts the better.

Wow...I always thought the double breasted jackets were for....well, the double breast.

:-)

I still think it's the sharpest looking pilot uniform out there. That being said....anyone want to buy mine (46R)?

He had it in PAST tense if you read it again. And you guys are paid sooo well....

Bye Bye--General Lee

Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning?? You have been on a mission since this morning.

WD.

No not paid anywhere near what I should be however we are working on a contract as I type and it is far better than where I am today and in fact a little better that your's too... Now that's not to brag or dog anyone one cause none of the Legacys are really kicking up any real dust...

TILT!

You open a thread with this:

"Someone told me that you guys wear double breasted jackets because you needed a place to put all of the medals:laugh: ."

Then ask a Delta pilot who responded a question about why he is upset?

When you're done livin' la vida stupid, I'll spell it out for you....

You reckon a "Kick Me!" sign woulda been too obvious?

If it was truly "between two people" you wouldn't have posted it on a public Forum!

You asked a Delta guy, "Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning??" when you knew the answer....it was YOU!

Again Occam's, this was between he and I. You would have gathered that if you read it throughly. Now everyone else who posted on that thread took it for the joke that it was however you feel that it's up to you to save General Lee. Well guess what? he doesn't need your help.

Folks Are having trouble reading today. Poppi go back and re-read what I posted!!! I said we are working on a contract as I type this and it's far better than yours" Now since I am in the know on the new proposed rates allow me to enlighten you as to what 5th yr narrow body f/o pay excluding the 757 2007 $93.00 2008 $97.76 2009 $102.65. Now I could be wrong but I think that's better than Delta's 92.00/hr!!!!

As usual, this thread had turned nasty. Why oh why can`t you little boys behave...Don`t make me stop this car! BTW, the reason Delta pilots wear a double breasted uniform coat is simple. Look around next time you are walking down the concourse. Almost every pilot in a single breasted coat has it unbuttoned and hanging open. The Delta guy`s coats are almost always buttoned up, thereby fooling the public into thinking that they are more professional than anyone else...and thats the truth!

Retired Guy:
The problem is you'll see that the same person, WD keeps his constant flame towards the DL guys. He even admitted in another thread he likes to torment the DL guys. What can you expect from a juvenile group like the awa pilots!?

Well, WD is still consistent! He used to torment us at AWAC as well, but never had anything of real substance to say.

Oh, by the way, check the first post. Doesn't look like it is directed at ANYBODY but the DL pilot group in general. So that says to me, pile on!

Peace.

Well if that's what you are asking for - its pretty clear you will end up at less than Delta even still!! Having been down this road a few times before - asking ain't the same as receiving...

Good luck
