As has been said before........the reason we have not heard from the national mediator is because we have not seen what is going to transpire over at Comair. Once the ball starts rolling over there THEN we will hear from the national mediator. I believe someone pointed out the date as the 3rd of Feb.
The question is whether or not it will impact what we are asking for and how we are approaching our own negotiations. I believe ALPA and our CNC should start looking at the worst of outcomes from Comair- folding and accepting a concessionary agreement that would undercut us and our current rates, or match what we currently have. Our MEC and CNC should be discussing what the MINIMUM outcome could/should be for both parties.Otherwise, we lose a lot of negotiating power and footing.
