I like it too.

Seventh Son is probably my favorite Maiden album. I saw them on tour that year ('88) and on the previous tour for Somewhere in Time ('86). They don't do the huge tours over here anymore so I haven't been able to catch them since.

Don't trust them that you're hired, until you have a class date. Don't slow down your job search one bit until you got an I.D.

Ask me how I know this....

Huck. Been there. Done that. Got the Tshirt. Looks like things worked out OK for both of us.

Gup

ooks like things worked out OK for both of us.

If I ever see ol' Plato I'm gonna kiss him on the mouth. He saved me 3 years or more of stacking lumber at Home Depot.....

Awww, I'm jealous! I was too young then....I've seen them a few times but Bruce had cut his hair already :angryfire

Did you know Bruce is a pilot in England? He's living my dream life......pilot by day, rock star by night.....ya can't get any better than that.

Having said that, if we fight off this merger, or merge with NW, I think you would be in a great position.

Even if there were no job reductions between a NWA/DAL merger, a DAL new hire today would still be integrating with a NWA work force where the junior most DOH pilot is 8/27/2001. Regardless of how an eventual integration is handled with slotting, fencing, shuffling, oija boards, pistols at 12 paces, "cage of death", arbitration, etc., DOH is part of the formula and there could be some relative loss of seniorty.

There are considerable numbers of furloghed pilots deferring/bypassing at both NWA and DAL. Thier seniority is protected and when they return they come ahead of you. OTOH the combined airline would be a force to be reckoned with, and you have a number and are on the property, which is still way better than being on the outside looking in.

The sooner you get hired and get bodies beneath you the better. Also consider that even if there is a merger announced, it could take close to a year to consumate, and another year or 2 to actually integrate the operations. The snapshot date used for integration is waaaay off in the future, and you are getting relative seniority in the mean time.

Being a new hire anywhere has an element of risk, however unless you have something way better going, the upside favors going to work at DAL.

what do you consider better with the expection of UPS and Fedex?

Some people....scratch that....alot of people don't want to fly the back side of the clock. I have a friend that was hired at FedEx and SWA in the same month and chose to go to SWA for that reason alone.

It's not ALL about the money.....it's also about having a good time going to work, which is a large part of your time here on Earth....in the cockpit.

FedEx and UPS may be where the most money is right now....doesn't make them the best jobs.

Bruce is the man!

Mega, you into Slayer? I talked my wife into going to a Slayer show in D.C. with me a couple years ago, needless to say she's not going to any more concerts with me....

I just hope everyone keeps thinking that we only fly on the backside of the clock. That will eliminate some competition.
