Is he looking for the LAX base as his first choice? I waited about 4 months for an interview with TEB as my first choice, but I work with a guy who got an interview within a few weeks of application accepted with LAX as his first choice.

FWIW...
The hiring for the PBI domicile seems slow... My sim partner from the Nov 8th interview got hired but his indoc will not be until early April.

I had LAX for my first choice, here's my timeline:

Emailed resume- approx 6/20/06
Updated every 3 weeks
Received application late September, overnighted back 2 days later
Application Accepted email 2-3 weeks later
Interview Email approx Oct 20
Interview Nov 8th
Congrats Nov 29/30
Class Jan 8th

Sweating it out's just part of the game! Good luck everyone!

I think his first was DAL but not sure. It really depends on more than that but they do want to put people in their first choice. Why? Because unlike most places that make a business out of flying airplanes, NJA really wants you to be happy. (also it is cheaper if people don't jump arround all the time but that gets into the whole domicile thing)

I wish I could give you something more solid than that but I really can't.

If you get an internal recommendation (especially from a pilot) that really helps. The more the better.

How did you finish that college thesis application of theirs in two days? Notarized, etc?

I finished the app in just over a day. If you've got your background info in order and your logbooks up-to-date, it's not too bad of an app. Now if your state's DMV/BMV is a nightmare to deal with, that might slow you up.

Like Guitar Guy says, not too bad. And don't let the local DMV hold you up. When I did mine last year, Derinda said send in everything along with a letter stating that you will fax them the driving record as soon as you get it.

Good luck.

app mailed out on 9/25
app accepted email 10/17 still waiting....
Domicile picks were CMH,LAX,TEB,PBI,DAL

Application approved in May or June 2006 for PBI. Still waiting for anything else.
