Trying to get this darn app done but I'm stuck on the Drivers license part. I had a few tickets in the past and took a class to get out of all three since they were all in three different states. My question is where can I get a record of when I got these tickets, dates basically. I don't remember when I got 'em not even the years...help please! There are a few websites out there but wanna see if anyone's used them...Thanks!

if you remember the states, call each DMV office and ask for a copy of your record with them......or you can pay someone 50 bucks to do a public records background check on ya.........

Well, if you had three different tickets in three different states, the only way to "get out of a ticket" by going to a safety class is to do it in all three states. I'm not aware of states cooperating on this issue. In other words, if you only went to one class in one state, the other tickets are still on your record.

My question is where can I get a record of when I got these tickets, dates basically.

I’m confused again; if you took a class to get out of those tickets, they should NOT be on your record at all. That's the whole purpose of taking the class - to keep your record clean!

Ps. A public records background check will NOT show speeding tickets.

Hi!

Timeframes are also important here. WI keeps records of non-DUI tickets for only 3 years. I've never heard of a state keeping records beyond 10 years (for minor violations). So, it may be that there are no records, whatsoever, of your tickets.

Good luck!

I am in the process of doing the same thing....FAA website has a Form
8060-13 I believe, that does your NDR request. I haven't sent it in yet but just started the research.

Thanks! Goodluck to you.

Just remember that NDR only keeps "major" offenses on file, in other words it is quite possible that a simple speeding ticket won’t show on the NDR check BUT it will show on your state's record. Usually there's a limit on how many miles above the speed limit you were before it'll be submitted to the NDR. So do the NDR check but also check your state and every state you think you might have gotten a speeding ticket. Some airlines when they conduct their own background checks – they check EVERYTHING - therefore better safe than sorry. Speeding tickets are usually kept for 5 years; some states keep them for 7.

You might also want to keep in mind what you put on your application for any previous flying job you've had. For example, if you work for Regional X and are filling out an application for Legacy Y, there's a real good chance the HR people at Legacy Y are going to call the HR people at Regional X. If on the Legacy application you say you've never had a speeding ticket (because it dropped off you official record since then) and they reference your Regional application that has a speeding ticket on it, there's a good chance they'll be unhappy with your honesty. Then again, maybe they won't catch it. If your regional is like mine, there's a good chance they don't even know you work there due to their lack of record keeping skills. Personally, I'm not going to risk it though and just be honest about it. Good luck.
