So is this what Xjt has left? This was their plan B since they lost all the RFPs they bid on.

I've been in this industry for 10 years I just don't see this making any money. Sorry but flying some 145s from Ontario to Fresno isn't going to work. Its doomed to failure.

Doesnt have FLYI written on it? Totally different plan of action. Also the charter ops are already booked up for months in advace. No pop up trips-they are scheduled runs. Pilots are bidding lines with actual trips. Right now its not competeing with every 135 operator. Honestly we dont know how it will pan out, hopefully it leads into bigger and better things. We will see. But its nothing like FLYI did. Thats not that hard to see. The only thing in common there is they tried it without being another carriers bitch. Your right if it works then hopefully it will stop the whipsawing or at least get our company out of the whorefest

Looks like SuperPilot is still snorting those lines of Koolaid.

At least FLYI was based in DC which was a very lucrative market and they also had a few airbusses and weren't leasing 145s (which people hate) for a high rate.

You are right this is nothing like what FlyI did, they had a plan that could have worked not some pipedream based out of ontario california.

Not worth even getting into it with~~~

Go get bent, toolbox!!

ExpressJet has lots of 135 flying and a steady stream of imcome from CO. If they make money on the branded flying then it's just a bonus.

I give XJT management credit for not allowing those plane to go to CHQ. We'll see what happens.

Did the fact that 15 of the 19 mentioned cities being SWA destinations jump out at anyone else ? Not that it's the be-all, end-all to have to compete with Southwest. It just seems that RJ point-to-point is tough.

Exactly what I was thinking.... SWA is running $39 one way fares to most of these cities according to their website!!

Very original! You do realize of course that we have 205 aircraft flying a very profitable contract with CAL? Now I'm new to all this but if I remember correctly Indy had 0 aircraft flying Fee for Departure when they went live on their own.

Yeah you are in better shape I'll give you that. There is money in 135 fracrtional share and charter + the big contract with CAL. If you have a business that makes money in most of its key areas and loses in one you are usually okay. Its unusual to grow a business in a way to almost guarantee a loss (compete with Southwest? dude thats CRAZY) using the same overhead costs as a profitable portion of your business. Why not just put all the planes in 135 ops if the market will bear it?

The fact that XJT did not do branded flying prior to losing the jets from CAL and the fact that they have been trying very hard to get other RFP's tells you that this branded flying deal is probably not as lucrative as a CPA with another carrier. If it were such a great idea why did XJT wait to do it until they were forced to by CAL and why has MESA, CHQ, or SKYW not jumped in on the game?? I think it will be fun to watch, but in the end it won't make as much money for XJT as CPA business would have done. I wish them the best of luck and hope it all works out. West coast flying will be great for the XJT guys.

This guy SuperKooter is too much....man are you obnoxious or what?

Actually it seems like you are the obnoxious one. You have been beating your drum about CHQ for the last few months, then someone has an anti XJET comment and you say "they" are obnoxious.?! Grow up!

I have a lot of friends at XJET who are truely embarrassed by the behavior of some of you guys in the light of the CAL RFP. Everyone knows you think XJET is the best thing out there, and everyone else sucks because they are "lowering the bar" (yawn!!!). Get over yourself dude and go drink a beer.

I usually don't post on here because I know most people come here just to stir the pot. But after reading your posts I truly believe you are one of those "keyboard tough-guys" that believes everything he says....Sad!
