those numbers have to be a base. you probably make extra money for mileage and per diem. i doubt they give you a type right away, maybe an sic type.

Yeah, that is a little off what you actually make. They don't type you right away, except the SIC type of course. It is Cargo only, we have two scheduled runs, one in the Falcon, one in the Lear. As an FO, you will make around $30-$35 on average. I made $37 my first year as an FO. Captains make around $60-$65 on average. Upgrades have been pretty quick lately due to some of our captains moving on to better things, like Southwest. If you have any more questions, PM me and I'll help you out. There is a lot of post on here about us, just don't believe everything you read!

My two cents, if you want to go adhoc cargo, then Cherry or IFL are probably not a bad places to be. Other than getting stuck at FL280 with Cherry's non-RVSM birds they seem to be OK. The air condition units have been removed to save weight, so it gets hot in the summer. At least the Falcons have windows that open, but in the lear you suffer. Other things get removed to save weight as well. One I can think of is any kind of sound proofing that they can get a hold of. I didn't work there, but I have had dinner with more than one Cherry crew and these are the stories they tell.

Kalitta, USA Jet, Ameristar, and Grand Aire are probably best left alone.

Royal Air you will get a lot of flying and maybe make a few bucks, but there are always issues. The owner is not allowed on site as a term/penalty by the FAA and that has been going on for years. That should tell you enough.

I don't know where you heard that, but it's not true at all. The owners office is right over in the Mx hanger and he's there every day. He's just not supposed to run either the Mx dept or fight ops. He still takes care of many day to day things, and finds and buys A/C. You will fly ALOT at Royal, most guys get between 1000 and 1200 hrs most years. You can also make a pretty good living too, our Bandit Co-pilots (lowest pilot position at Royal) make about the same or sometimes more than co-pilots at IFL, but you have to work for it. I don't know what kind of issue your talking about because I very rarely have a problem. Our mx is at least as good if not better than all the other on demand operators, and alot better than alot of flight schools I've been to before I worked here.

I don't know anything about Cherry, but IFL is also a good place though they don't fly much anymore. From what I've heard most guys are getting 3-400hrs a year since they went to 121 and had to hire alot more crews. I wouldn't want to work for Ameristar since they spend ALOT of time on the road from what I hear. I generally only spend one or two nights a month on the road in the 310's. The guys in the jets typically spend more time on the road but nothing like they do at Amerisar, I also heard Cherry spends a fair amount of time on the road.

it liked it, twice

Muuuahahaha! no wonder those airplanes look like that man! Everyone just has their way with them! LOL! :smash:
You better use protection, God only knows what those engines have had inside of them over the years!
