Anyone out there in the St. Louis Guard.

When are you guys transitioning to the B-2 mission? Also are most of your guys staying with the unit through the transition, or are you fighter guys not okay with the change?

I've got a few buddies down there at Whiteman right now, obviously on active duty... just wondering what the feeling was down there?

The way I understand it is that the St Louis guard, who is currently F-15s has been notified that they will change their mission to the B-2. The B-2s will still be active duty, but the guard will also operate them. That is how I understand it, but I am writing on here because I just heard about it, and am simply trying to see if anyone else has more/better/concrete info.

GO BENGALS!!!!

Bengals - what you say is correct.

I'm actually going back onto active duty. I don't trust the airlines right now, not to mention that I am pretty young (about 2000TT) and I have sent my app out to about 20 places, and no phone calls. So I'm going back to AD and I will probably try the civilian route again after I retire...
And I am from Cinci originally...

Have they already approved you coming back? I thought they were paying folks up to 100 grand to leave. Good on you if you make it!

Is the B-2 the fastest airplane in the Air force? I was waiting in the terminal the other day and ended up talking to some dude who had flown it. He said they cruised around at Mach 3. I thought this was kind of funny since he didn't look like an Air force guy.

Not down hill with a SR-71 strap to it.

Remember...it is old school stealth and booming sort of gives you away.

Ultimate stealth

Actually, the B-2 is not just supersonic, it's superluminous. By breaking the light barrier, it cannot be seen or picked up on radar until a couple of days after it has gone home. Pilots land from a mission younger than they were at takeoff, sometimes forcing an immediate reduction in rank. ;)

That's right, my three day voucher says Whiteman to Whiteman

The B-2 is going ANG ??

Can't happen. What self-respecting weekend warrior would fly a 30 hour mission on a teep that goes out and back to Tehran or Damascus (no per diem! )?

F'in BS, man ;)

Are you sure you weren't looking in the mirror? Did he look a lot like an RJ F/O instead? I think you may have found your culprit.

Wow... this got way off track... weird, never thought that would've happend on flightinfo!

Hagar... Good point. I wonder how they are going to deal with some of the pay issues that you bring up. You're right, no one is going to fly a 30hr single TP! Hell I wouldn't fly a 30 hr triple TP!

You have something against RJ's dude?

Nope dude, I like to give instructordude a hard time because he loves to elucidate to all folks on here about himself and the RJ. Overall I'm starting to like the little guy, he's a funny piece of work.

I can see it now... "Okay, good news boys, dual teeps authorized if you're scheduled for a 30.5, make sure if you underfly, you get flight time in both periods. I still can't give out any mandays."
