Elag. Let's assume that JB pilots do actually organize and form a union either their own or call in alpa. Would you become a member or would you defer to defending yourself with your privately paid lawyer if the circumstance ever prestented itself? Just curious how you feel.

Thats exactly what I'm referring to. No one outside of JetBlue can even fathom how big this crapstorm really is. Just trust me when I say I've never witnessed a group as angry as ours.

Good on the JetBlue pilots to organize anything in protest to the pay rates. I wish and hope our guys will do the same for our pathetic 1st year pay at CAL. I hope to see you guys do something to show your management that piloting a 100 seat aircraft from the captain's seat deserves something way north of 75.00 an hour. Good luck

What happened?

Simple, management formed a Pilot Compensation Group to work out recommendations for our compensation plan. We were led to believe there would be a modest improvement in the COLA for the A320's and a significant raise for the E190's. The A320's got NADA and the E190 guys got a very modest raise. But, the clincher is that the talk of improving the 401k match got ugly when they revealed they were looking at funding a 401k increase by cutting our stock purchase plan. Management says were on track to make 200mil next year, but can't afford to bump our pay enough to match the economy.

We had modest expectations that were missed. We were fooled into thinking the PCG would try at least get a base hit. Instead, the PCG swung for the pitcher's mound and only tipped the ball right back into the catcher's mitt.

That's what happened.

BTW - I don't know of any real intent out there to disrupt operations. Some guys will call in sick on Christmas and there will be a few passive aggressive guys that think they are sticking it to the man by taxiing on two engines or writing up a broken map clip, but 99.9% of us will take the professional high road.
