Which headset does Republic/Shuttle provide to their crews?

David Clamps...er...Clarks.

MDA had all Sennheiser HMEC25 ANR lightweights. They all disappeared after the sale, ($600 retail) except for a few; or when broken, Wayne doesn't want to pay to have them repaired. I flew with an FO the other day who had is own "personal" Sennheisers....yeah.

What's the point of that button - I mean, there is no logical reason for having it, other than maybe a maintenance function. It seems like a pointless thing to have.

Uhh if you blast off into the soup, and blow a motor, and the solenoid breaks, you need to get the gear up for obvious - I don't wanna die - reasons.

They're still used to flying the 172's they were flying a couple months ago where you need to speak up over thje prop noise. Give em a few years.
I realize that bashing RAH is one of the hip things to do on this forum, but could you at least base it on accurate information? RAH has the highest minimums (1500/300) of any regional out there right now. Most of the new FOs there already have 121 experiece, and I haven't met anyone that got the 170 without prior turbine time.

I recently flew with a March new hire FO. It was his first line trip off IOE. Prior experience was Flight Instructor in various SE Cessnas and an MEI. ALL of his ME time was Dual Given. No "non-instructing" Commercial time, 100 hours of total instrument of which 50 was hood or sim. No "two-crew" time; never flew a min approach for real; never had to miss for real; never had to go to an alternate for real; never had to fuel mangage the situation. He was hired with the standard mins. And he did a fine job. He was astute and worked really hard.

They are there, Mag. Many have no turbine. Lot's of former night freight/check runners. Lately, HR has been tapping Gulfstream Airlines for new hires. I've flown with three former GA pilots this past month.
