Heading to IAD tomorrow and was trying to determine the specifics for UAL jumpseating. Is it unlimited? etc.

Thanks guys & gals.

yes, and while we are on the subject, please introduce yourself to the captain and request a ride. DO NOT stick your head in the cockpit and say hey guys...thanks for the ride and disappear. common courtesy...no one will deny you the jumpseat. just because the gate agent gave you a seat assignment dont mean the captain knows about you.

thank you.

Please tell me that this is a joke........

It is a shame that "common sense" is not so common anymore.

Very good point. I ALWAYS do. This used to piss me off to no end when I had the fourth stripe. It is also a nice touch to take the time to introduce yourself to the FO as well. IMHO it is a classy move to acknowledge the entire flightcrew.

yeah i had a kid on my flight the other day who did this. when I told him at the end of the flight to just be polite in the future and ask he looked at me like I was wacko...well one day when he gets his a$$ kicked off he will get the message. and yeah i like to say to both pilots and of course the FAs. we are all the same team...treat each other with respect...there is no downside to it.
