Do you work at SkyWest? Its is very possible to hit that mark on 2nd year pay, that is you want to work your a$$ off. Flying in and out of ORD helps too.

So the difference is that you must scarifice "quality of life" to reach these numbers?

Proud to be a selfish overtime *hore I take it?

What's funny is that at ASA for years they would run us lean, very lean, on crews so there was always open time. Then it began to be junior manning. Then it turned into I don't want to fly every day in a month.

You can brag now but when the company doesn't staff you and they take you down to your min. days, you'll really be laughing won't you. It's cheaper to run short handed and have you pick up, and junior man, then it is to properly staff an airline.

Hmmm....Let's see Skywest 2nd yr pay $35.00/hr x 75 hr guarantee = $2625.00/month

I'd say your math is more than fuzzy....But if lying to yourself makes you feel better, then have at it!

He forgot to add that he only has 4 days off a month and has no life outside of work as a result.

<-----from the Great Purple Book of Question Mark!

Isn't interesting how Skywest pilots are the only ones that compare their W2s when the industry as a whole uses hourly. From what I see the "performance pay" is the only difference. If you think that, at ASA, we would be better off with a lower rate in exchange for performance pay you are misguided.

Here lays the problem. With the help of our fuzzy company math and work "agreement", we can do pretty good at the end of the month. I don't give too much of a flip what anyone's hourly rate is when it's the paycheck at the end of the month that counts. When I work 10 days, get 20 off, and still bring in 85 "hours" of pay then I have to say it works for me. The industry as a whole sucks. It just seems to suck better at SkyWest at the end of the month than at most other regionals.

Skywest is getting more growth than they can handle and their W2s are some of the highest. In the regional industry growth means upgrades and that is all that matters. Get yout 1000 pic and get out, it took 6 years at asa to get that and i'm still pissed about it.

Get out and go where? That's the problem with flying CRJ900's for 50 seat CRJ rates. If enough majors get their regionals to fly a 90 seat aircraft for cheap rates, the old 737, DC-9, and MD-80 fleets will be GONE and not replaced, because all the selfish 'Get yout 1000 pic and get out' types will be flying big CRJ's and ERJ's under that former capacity.

from my 7/7/2006 paystub (pay period ending 6/30/2006, or half the year)

Total Gross Earnings $29145.61

if the 2nd half of the year ends up like the first, I'll be over $58,000

all doubters and haters, PM me with your address and I'll mail a copy of this stub. why would I lie?

flame on

I can do this too.

Dude, you are a Moron. Tell me this. Have you ever seen Ice build on a boot? Ever lose an engine? what a/c were you flying when you logged the 500 hour mark or even the 1000 hour mark? The reasons I ask this is because I don't think you or CAL Scab son have the experience to appreciate what so many have gone through to get where they are. Only to have groups like you drag the whole industry down with them. The 1000PIC is going to be useless because mainline is learning how much more inexpensive you are. Get settled in, you'll be there a while.

Finally someone else gets it. Great post man.

sure, plenty of times. what the hell does that have to do with this topic?

Ever lose an engine?

No, thankfully. I've worked for 3 regionals, all have had excellent maintenance. If I had, that would somehow earn your respect? and if I had, that would somehow make me a company malcontent but with good reason?

thanks, Sport. I plan on staying here until I retire.

SkyNation, every time you post you make all the Skyw pilots cringe. Seriously trying to tell the world exactly how much money you make. And that you don't need a raise or work rules improvements, your must really have something to prove.

I only post what I make to prove people wrong who subscribe to the fantasy that we are paid less than others. we obviously are not.

thanks for informing me on how 'all the skywest pilots' feel. you must have magic powers to be able to discern the collective mood of all of us. when did I say we don't need work rule improvements or raises? we're being offered a raise, and I'll take it. If you don't want a raise and feel you can just keep drawing this out thinking we'll get more, then vote no.

I guess that makes it all okay then.....you got yours.
Naaahaaa,
He hasn't read the R.Reber infamous "widget" article. Whenever some(or skypud) tool says the are gonna stay at SKYW till they retire Rebers ears perk up and he gets diarrhea. Skypud J.A. and R.R. don't want you to stay for more than 5-7 years. Keep swilling the kool-aid and ask Anita to put the infamous "senority calculator" on the company website. Every one else ignore this skypud tool box.

Oh God, here we go again!!!!!!!!

like watching a couple of bums fight over who gets to eat which end of the $hit sandwich first

Aw C'mon now, don't sell him short. I am sure pilots from other airlines cringe when he posts. SkyWest pilots just cringe a little more.
