Anyone get that class, PM. Just a couple questions.

Rick

Did you get the job Rick? Congratulations and good luck in training if you take the job offer.

Yep I got that class, just called and turned it down. Sounded like it was a pretty small class. Good luck to you.

I assume you are talking about my low times... no I wasn't an intern I just havent updated my times on this site. They have reduced thier mins to 600/100 though.

does anyone have the payrates of the contract that passed before they reverted to the old contract... I'm just wondering what we are in store for in a few months

Just look at the Mesa pay rates and add a few cents. Very sad but true. I would say the chq rates would be an accurate look at what well end up with.

Good luck Comair new hires. Wish things were rosier here. At least you will be treated half decent while you log jet/efis/121 time at the FAA maximum allowable rate. I timed out (30/7) my first 3 weeks online. Week # 4, I flew less (because I already had 90 of my 100 hour month max). People quit like crazy here so if we stop shrinking you will get seniority fast.

Now, for a shameless plug of self promotion. Who wants to rent a room. (just kidding, no, but seriously) I have a 2b apartment, it is nice and cheap enough. I am there by myself. I am looking for a possible roommate just to cut down on rent. I am either working, playing, or traveling. Might as well have someone enjoying the 70f setting on the thermostat when I am away.

They told me hotel was paid for during training. That makes me think we are going to get the JFK base. Bad for me what base do the rest of you want?

Why are you guys coming here? I can't figure out what kind of complete idiot would show up for class. You do know that their is a 80%+ chance that you will be furloughed in next four months. You do know that the chance of Comair surviving the next two years is about 50%. You do know that the pay is going to suck AND upgrades will be non existant as planes go away and CA get displaced back to the right seat.

With all this... even if only 1/3 of it comes true.... why would you guys come here???????????????????????????

...In addition reserve in cvg, should you be based there, is two years if not more. You may upgrade at some places quicker than you get a line as a fo at comair (assuming you are cvg based).

Don't listen to this crybaby. Comair is going through hard times just like many other airlines. By the end of december everything will be worked out either by the courts or more likely by a TA with the pilot group. After that its anybodies guess as to whether or not the company keeps shrinking or maybe gets some new equipment or whatever.

4 years ago I came here and it was the place to be, now people going to Chitty Kitty or the Skywhores are saying that. Its all cyclical (sp?). 3 years from now who knows, maybe Colgan will be the place to be?

Good luck in class guys, we'll see you out on line.

Hard times is an understatement.... People are comming to Chitty Kitty because Delta wants to wash its hands of Comair. I agree with CVG why would you go there?

BTW is 3 years hopefully we'll be some place better that the regionals...people comming in to Comair will still be "stuck" there like at eagle

broke again in cvg,

you need to take a chill pill. why call these new hires "idiots" when they choose to come here instead of a contract carrier? you would probably call them "h's" or "part of the problem" if they went anywhere else.

who knows, maybe they live in cvg or jfk.

(you put off an angry vibe. whats with the "broke again?" you don't like our maintenance? i think our maintenance is actually one of our good areas. this is obviously the only air carrier you have worked for.)

I guess if it's on Flightinfo, it must be true.

Where are the quitting Comair guys going?

New Course!

What's the new advance training course Comair is coming up with in Jan 07?
Is it just too hire guys with 600 total & 100 ME?
Just curious what the new course entails?

We switched to AQP for new-hires a couple months ago. It actually has less sim-time than we used to have.

I think our maintance is excellant! Except for the guy last month who told me not to write up a non-defferable item because it was a first flight on the day check and this wasn't the first flight of the day. BTW: Told him I was writing it up as we speak.

"Broke in CVG" is in regards to the 51% of the people here who opened up their & MY wallet and told Comair to take what they needed.

I am not a Chicken Little, but I am a realist. The only difference is that if the company can't pay a livable wage to its employees to be competitive than they SHOULD shut the doors. The rest of the world has to be competetive and it's management's job to increase productivity, invest in technologies, come up with creative solutions.... in the airline industry, they just reach into our pockets because it is the easiest way to become "competitive".

Not to mention Comair's LOA put us AT the bottom when SKYW and ASA are looking at increases above and beyond our current freeze.

I am in the December 14 class and very excited to start. Although Comair is having a rough time right now, don't attack the new hires and ruin their excitement for flying 121. For me, I would rather go to a shaky regional and fly a CRJ, be furloughed in 6 months, and then go on to another company than fly as a CFI building piston time and making half what I would at Comair. Comair impressed me when I went down for the interview and nothing will change the fact that I can't wait to start!

Garritto, remember that attitude, print that message and put it in your hat. Then if a furlough looks imminent re-read that message. Again, when you are on reserve for several years working holidays and special occasions re-read that message. Again when it looks like it will be a good 5-8 years at least for upgrade re-read that message. :) Try your best to keep a good attitude and remember what got you into flying in the first place. Welcome!
