I was hired 1 week behind Flatspin and am obviously also still on reserve in EWR. End of November will be 5 solid months. Then again, they only hired 8/month after us until September. So my guess is that anyone hired today will only be on reserve in EWR on the 737 for 6-8 weeks given that they are hiring 64/month right now.
And I disagree with Flatspin on the RJ vs. 737. Each has its positives over the other one. I definitely thought the 737 would have been quieter up front. If the 737 had a hot mic I'd be back to wearing my Bose X's. It is one loud cockpit! Now that 757...wow...that is the real deal right there.

Neal,
You made it to the majors and you're already bitchin', huh?![]()
Hope you're having fun over there in Joisey!
Across the river in Flushing (appropriately named!),

I thought it was flu-shing. Atleast at the Roosevelt and Main area. Holy cow, I was the only round eye walking around there most of the time.
Not b-tching at all! Just stating the facts. And I'm not Joisey...on the UES across the east river from you. Come on in and let's get a cold one...

i don't know... I don't care what model 737 you're it, it's still not as loud as the Emb. Even the main cabin, row 10 is on the Emb is louder than the 737 cockpit. Besides, that Econ cruise at .70 Mach is nice and quiet (and a money-maker to boot!).
What is reserve like on the 756 in EWR?? I understand the 73 guys get used alot, but wasn't sure about 756... Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have been on the 756 in EWR for 6 months (with the company for 8).
I dequal for 90 day landing currency in 11 days.
Sincerely,
B. Franklin

I start class in two weeks at CAL and will probably be in EWR on the 737 or 756. How much longevity does it take to be a lineholder (above the G-line) for each model? Thanks!
you should notify scheduling.....they wil get you your landings
plan on FL turns or the dub-snn wrap
I've notified scheduling. The CPO has made 3 requests to the scheduling sup. on my behalf to schedule some flying.
Is there anything else that you recommend I do to get some flying on my schedule?
Thanks.
.70 / .72, what's the difference? The point is with Econ/C.I. 15 we are cruising at slow speeds. While I haven't taken a survey, it seems to me the the 300's & 500's general cruise in the .70 to .74 range in Econ/C.I.15.
Not trying to pick a fight, just saying that the 737 may be louder than the 757 but it's much quiter than the Emb. I can't believe that we're even discussing it.
My only issue with the noise is that it can be hard to have a normal conversation at a normal volume since there is no hot mic/intercome setup.

Good point. I am more in the Latino area, but I speak Spanish jive so I fit right in. (Hey mang, how djou doin' ese?)
How do you fly .70 in econ? We are limited to cost index of 15 right now.
