Fellow PSA Pilot,

We, the members of your ALPA MEC, understand that some of you have signed a letter titled, "Representation Authorization and Request for an Employee under the Railway Labor Act" from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
While we recognize your right to seek information, we want you to understand that the letter you signed authorizes more than just an informal meeting; it also authorizes the Teamsters to petition the National Mediation Board on your behalf to hold an election for representation by the Teamsters.
If you signed one of these letters, feel that this is not what you had intended, and want to recind your authorization, please complete the three copies of the enclosed form and drop them into the mail as soon as possible in the enclosed stamped, self-addressed envelopes.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to one of your elected representatives.
In solidarity,
The PSA MEC
Capt. Mark Stanley
Capt. Christopher Jones
Capt. Christopher Collins
Capt. Mark Zukowski
F/O Michael Wolgemuth
Capt. Jeffery Clark
F/O James McKee
Capt. Clarence "Skip" Fox
Capt. John Rhoades

Capt. Kevin Mussat,

This is great...Guido verses Guido!

Last thing we need is the previous MEC.
Those guys sold out the F/O's in every aspect of the contract.
Mark Stanley is the right choice for PSA because he will represent all
the pilots not just the top 10%.

Or...quitting and getting a real job will improve your QOL and pay a lot sooner. It worked for me!

Its good to hear the being a quitter has paid off for you.

And I am glad that being loyal to a dead-end job that pays for schite along with the benefit of not having a life or seeing your family is doing it for you. Not to mention all the perks of ALPA taking your money for nothing...and I do mean nothing..., checking into a nasty hotel 240 times a year, the possibity of losing your job for any reason, and the lovely airport food that is just a little over-priced...ya think?
Im of the ilk that we should be flown by pilots who are respected, earn a descent pay and are treated right...like the good old days when we needed to have a minimum of 5000 hours just to be considered. I was hired (as are most now) at my first job with just over 1000...most of which were in a Piper Cherokee! Yeah, that made me qualified. There were guys in my class who had 600! Thats just stupid. Yes I quit...I know how to pick my battles and continuing with the airline industry is a losing battle. Besides, I wanted to one day retire with a pension that had some value. Look at all those Delta pilots who are being screwed now. Think that was in their plan 20 years ago...lose 60% of their pay along with all their pension right at retirement age? But maybe when you retire in ___ years, President Clinton (Hil) will have socialized our country enough so we will have free medical and a SS check that pays for our home at the beach as well as the home in the mountains. Wake up...I know you can smell the Starbucks around every corner at the airports...You might want to do a little thinking about your future. Granted, its fun to fly shiney jets...but then what?
Just my .02...let the blasting begin!
GO ALPA!

He's got a point, but I don't think it's ALPA's fault. It's managements and the pilots for not really be unionized. We should have all been under the same seniority list from day one, but now it will never happen because the pilots at the airlines that are doing well will never sign on for that. Just like when Delta and ALPA were first put together, they talked about it, but Delta was doing so well then, they didn't want to bring down their upgrade time.

ALPA is just my personal belief where most of the problems originate. I know and respect those of you who think it is management...but I disagree.

Good things are happening within the organizational structure of ALPA. Change for the better is at hand. We do not want the teamsters to destroy this growing solidarity.

As IBT747 member...you do not want Teamsters, at least not right now. ALPA is MUCH better organized and provides better support for the dues. You might say ALPA has represented mainline interests at the expense of regional interests, and you'd be right...but IBT is absolutely without scrupples. These are the guys that petitioned the NMB on behalf of GoJet so they could step in and "represent" them, over the strong protests of several existing EXCO's. They're in it for the dues money, pure and simple.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the kneecapping, that might actually get something done. As for the Teamsters - don't go there. For a look at the retards you'll be dealing with, try the forums at www.teamster.net. Makes flightinfo look like a MENSA meeting.

From what I hear, new ALPA leadership is work on solidarity with in all the ALPA groups. I think changing unions right now would be a huge mistake! PSA Mgt. would take complete advantage of the situation and I believe ALPA will start fight back. I am still reserved on our MEC and I think we have to give them a chance to prove themselves, I have the optimism that they will make some positive changes and if it doesn't happen then we will have to make the neccessary changes. It is important for ALL pilots to stand together and fight for our careers again. As for PSA ALPA they need to stay, and think of the supporters of the IBT movement.

and think of the supporters of the IBT movement.

r u refering to the people who never sat a day of reserve in their lives and were F/O's for less than a year? The same ones that voted for the great poverty pay rate the F/O's are enjoying right now? Same ones that chicken out each time i tell them that we can step outside and discuss it like real men?
Budweiser presents real men of genius....Today we salute you MR. Senior PSA Pilot Dude. Wearing little over that fat gut, you are living the real american dream....Selling out your peers. Getting paid more just because you got here first. Sure there's danger, that hot coffee, helmet head, steep stairs, and lots and lots of buttons to push. Your keen instincts tell you to stick to the autopilot, and super clear skies, and at the end of the day, if you don't get the girl or guy, who cares.....Your A PSA Captain! So this buds for you, Mr. Senior Pilot Dude, cause we all know when the going gets tough, you will sell out your fellow Junior pilots!
