Not surprised. Guess the next move is up to the mediator. Source is the ASA Connection newsletter.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

duh? Did anyone really think they would ask for arbitration? It's the game. We'll get kicked around by the mediator for a while longer and then the company will want to talk again. Delay, stall, delay, stall.

I thought if one side rejected arbitration that the 30 day cooling-off period starts? Is there one more step?

This was not a formal offer of arbitration. It just sounds like a supposal to me by the NMB.

ALPA wrote a letter to the NMB requesting a proffer of arbitration. The NMB then asked management to respond. After receiving management's response, the NMB will discuss and chose to either offer or deny a proffer. If either party denies the proffer, the 30-day cooling off period starts.

Makes sense, thanks.

BUT Skywest's Jerry said he wanted it settled.....YEAH RIGHT

we should just start putting our foot throught the crts....

What is so AWESOME about 150 planes sitting and 1700 pilots out of work?

:rolleyes:Because mgmnt THINKS they have us....when in fact, we are released, they will miraculasly(spelling....long day) sign a deal with us in the 12th hour! WE hold all the cards right now. WE OWN ATL and big D can't take us parking our aircraft. The pressure will be on Dumb@ss BL to get R done...and honestly, I can't WAIT to see that Sack O @hit come a beggin for a deal!

That's the dumbest post I've read on here yet- we don't have $hi*.......We shut down tomorrow and I'll see you in the unemployment line the day after. We WILL be replaced and *NEWSFLASH* it won't be by a company that pays it's pilots more than ASA. Nor will the performance problems go away- IT'S THE WORKFORCE STUPID!!!!! Want to see how quickly 1700 (and shrinking) pilots can be replaced- Hold my beer and watch this................Sounds like somebody really likes reading and buying off on 100% of the ALPA coolaid. OPEN YOUR EYES AND THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!

Come fly the line for a few years. No one cares if this place shuts the doors tomorrow.

I disagree- there are many pilots that care. I'm one of them- If people truly are THAT miserable, then quit. It's a job and not a hostage chrisis. Nothing makes a trip longer and more miserable than having to listen to a whiner try and complain about how bad it is here.......Just a trend I've noticed though- most of the WHINERS did nothing more than flight instruct. In short, this place it what it is, so deal with it or punch out!

Doesn't 80% of the ATL DCI feed have to be ASA per contract? If so, I'd say that's something.

NO ONE has been able to verify this for me. Is that 80% ASA OR Skywest inc. out of Atlanta? From what I understand this is also if we meet certain performance goals.

If we strike we won't meet those goals. Can't Skywest move in and cover most of our flying along with MESA/GJ?

If the SKW guys I've read on this board are representative of the pilot group, then they would be GIDDY with the thought of a taking all of the DCI flying out of ATL and that quick upgrade.

Poof......Union gone

Having said that. I WILL NOT TAKE A PAY OR QOL CUT!!

Tomct:

You are clearly an idiot! You don't hold any cards and your vitriolic hatred of your company is tired. Just shut up and fly your jet.

P.S.--You got blackballed at SWA. Have fun being unemployed when you shut down ASA with you and your buds--what a dip$hit you'll look like! Go show everyone how tough you are!

This is getting interesting:

"
D. Schedules Publication. Delta, in its sole discretion, shall establish and publish all schedules for the Aircraft, including city-pairs served, frequencies, and timing of scheduled departures. Where practical, Delta will collaborate with ASA to determine mutually optimal schedules. ASA shall operate the Aircraft in the city pairs designated by Delta, subject to the frequency, scheduling and other requirements established by Delta from time to time. In addition, it is agreed and understood that Delta may utilize and schedule any of the Aircraft to perform various charter operations on behalf of Delta as can be reasonably accommodated by ASA. Notwithstanding the above, but subject to reduction as provided elsewhere in this Agreement, Delta covenants and agrees that during each year of the “Term” (as defined in Article 11 hereof), (i) ASA shall be scheduled to operate not less than [***] of all Delta Connection Program departures scheduled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (“Hartsfield”) and (ii) [***] ((i) and (ii) above, collectively, the “ATL Departure Percentages.”)

Delta will notify ASA of schedule times, frequencies and related information for the Aircraft as sufficiently in advance of the schedule publication date so that the information can be properly disseminated to ASA for pilot and flight attendant staffing, and related operational requirements."

Notice the censored part (***).

I think the number of pilots that care is in the minority now. What fun would it be to leave now; I'm waiting to watch this ship sink to the bottom. I just hope I get to see BL's face at the end.

Unfortunately, he'll probably be laughing all the way to the bank and just end up in another high paying management position somewhere else.

:rolleyes:Really and WHO is it that will replace 800 plus departures a day without causing complete liquidation at Big D? No one has the airplanes or pilots READY to take over all of that! V, you sound a LOT like mgmnt? Do you think we should just "turn and run?" Sorry, I have more respect for myself than that... and thank goodness 92% of our pilots do also...Looks like I'm not the ONLY ONE who thinks this way. Get back to work BL, the contract needs to get done!

Yea, sure, I'm management and I've got nothing to do other than troll through threads seeking to infiltrate the ASA pilot group so that I can impliment my plan for world regional domination. I'm also trying to sell my new contract proposal- I think people will be willing to pay 50 dollars an hour to fly my fleet of CRJ200 aircraft......

Come on dude- give me a break. I'm a realist, not bouncing around in some fuzzy la-la land with hopes and dreams of being everyone's favorite regional airline and pilot group. I consider myself to be one of the 8% that VOTED to have common sense.

I VOTED NO!!!!!!!!

It still amazes me the number of people I fly with that actually think there will be another vote prior to our walk out. Seems alot of people didn't understand the concept that they were placing 100% of the decision to stike with the MEC and their judgement alone.

Oh, and as for our replacement- Delta mainline would put a massive ding in it. Oh but their union......They think we took their flying anyways in 2001. Most of them would probably look at this as a chance to regain some ground. Plus, aren't there 60 something Expressjet Aircraft floating around out there anyways???

Man, you're approaching the ranks of D'angelho and SuperKooter and their SH** for brains. Pull your head out so you can get some O2 to the few cells you have left.

I'm so tired of the "it's the workforce" argument. Explain to me why Airtran and Delta aren't in the toilet with ASA when it comes to performance numbers. It's not a demographic issue. It's an economic issue. Six bucks an hour doesn't buy much..... anywhere. If BL and crew would pay our below wing and above wing people what they're worth then you would get much higher quality people and, by extension, a higher quality product. Instead of dancing around with the "It's the workforce" comments, go ahead and say what you really mean. What demographic are you referring to, specifically? I, for one, am anxiously awaiting your answer. I'm looking forward to watching you back-pedal from that racist claim you're flirting with........

Yea with all those hundreds of extra pilots and 50 737 and MD80's they have just waiting to go incase we do strike.....

I beleive we will get released to strike. I think the vast majority are willing to go that route. ASA Mgm't would let us strike and ride it out till we shut down, however Delta and Skywest lon't let it happen which means we will get what we want which is a fair and resonable contract.

Think about the fact that 2 years from now when the majors are making money hand over fist again and there is movement...will you look back and say I'm glad we fought for what we deserved as ASA grows and prospers aside from the fact we got a fair contract? Or will you look back after we settled for some crap concessionary contract and always regret that you caved?

I for one choose to stand strong and not blink because I don't want to regret it one day down the road!
