Any one hear anything where they may base the 175's coming in Jan or routes they be flying?

one of my buddies in CHQ class right now says IND is no longer a Republic 170 base...is this true...i hadnt any anything of the sort?

there are 18 CA and 20 FO's based in IND for Republic. your buddy is misinformed. these numbers come from the October bid sheets.

what i heard...

IND, PIT and DCA are all still Republic bases.
I'm pretty sure most of the 175's are going to PIT and DCA - but seeing as how it's all the same rating, I don't know why some wouldn't go to INDy too. My understanding is that the bases it goes to will be 170/175 bases. The pay is only increased when you actually fly a 175 as part of your pairing. Does anyone know how this would affect a Shuttle CA trying to bid over to the darkside? Will they still be stuck due to "same airplane" philosophy?

YES, I KNOW I'M YELLING. WHHHAAAATTT?????
CAN'T GO TO DEE CEE AYE DUE TO SEAT NUMBERS, OOOOHHHHH YEEEAAAA!!!!
76 SEAT CAP AT REAGAN WHHHHAAAATTT????

THEY TOLD THE UNION ONE THING AND ARE NOW DOING ANOTHER.......YEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!

That is just what uncle Brian wants you to believe. Contract says
"A pilot who holds the status of 79-99 seat turbojet captain will be paid at
the 79-99 seat turbojet captain rate for all assignments." Since the type for a 170 is common to the 175, any current 170 domocile that has a 175 based there, will revert all captains to the 175 rate. RW will not base any 175's at a current 170 bases. My 2 cents- Either the 170's are moved from IND to PHL or a new Republic base is opened for the 175.

The last IND/PIT bid was for 175 flying.... the company will keep it as a 170 bid since the domicile is a majority of 170 flying.... this bars S5 guys from bidding over since the bid was not for a higher paying position..... it is the whole MCO 135/145 thing again....

AND should have every pilot at RAH up in arms!!!!! I am, but i'm afraid there are too many aloof FOs too busy drooling over upgrades instead of lighting up torches!!!

I wouldn't be to sure. Most all of the FO's that have been hired in the last 18-20 months have come from other Airlines; a bunch of ACA and Skyway guys/girls. I think we are pretty dedicated to being up in arms and back the union. Company pulling this ******************** is wrong. I want to upgrade, but not at the expense of the rest of my brothers and sisters. ONE LOVE!

MTC guys are hearing CLT with Island flying coming. Anybody else just get Southern Latin America HI charts...Jepp Rev. 29???

Hmmmmm.

it is doubtful that any 175's will see DCA, either as a base or just passing through, due to the seat cap previously mentioned. The 170 gets to use commuter slots at DCA, the 175 would have to use mainline slots, and you can be sure that Airways would rather have a Bus on those precious runs than a 175. As for the recent bid announced as 170 positions instead 175 positions, well it sucks. But, I ask you this, how can the 175 be offered if it as no base yet. And how can a base be determined without any assigend flying from airways yet? Come November when Airways gives these new birds some planned flying, RP can then look at basing options, and then at least the company can decide if they want to offer a 175 bid. Without a base, it is just impossible to do.

There should be a base decided before they come on property! PERIOD!
This is a BS scam to keep our senior capts (that got screwed the first time) from bidding back to RPA where they should have been to start with.
The company had no problem making E135/E140 bases before the aircraft was on property. Decide on a base and open the bids!

There have also been many TSA and Mesaba guys to come over recently. I wouldn't expect them to start chugging the comapny kool aid after all the bs they've already dealt with.

What about 2-yr seat lock? How can ANY current E170 Captain bid anything else till the end of the seatlock. And since the E170 hasn't been on property for 2 yrs... well.....

OMP,

It is my understanding that there's a loophole for that!! The seatlock language (as currently written) only distinguishes a lock between SMALL JETS (135/145/CRJ) and LARGE SMALL JETS (170/175/190) As written, it does not prohibit a transfer from one "large small jet" to another, as long as it involves a higher rate of pay. I think. Then again, I'm just a dumb copilot.

It is pointless for CHQ, RAH, ... whatever to assign domiciles for these A/C when they will just change them every few months anyways.

correct per the contract, but we all know how well respected that is by the company.

I wouldn't be too sure about what you say either, a ton of those guys have been FOs for a long time and are ITCHING to get that left seat, big time.

SO November is when you will start flying for US? How about CO, when does that start?
