Better check your crew messages and plan accordingly. DL recinds our agreement for the "jumpseat." What does our Union have to say???

Disregard....I just hung up with our JS coord. and he says it is a mistake. Our CP crew message is inaccurate.

I fugured, I know that the Delta J/S is something that DALPA fought hard for many years to obtain and I haven't heard about the BK Judge taking it away (yet) from the pilots.

You WOULD THINK that after giving up 47% of our pay and benefits, we would have unlimited jumpseat for EVERYONE. Wrong. We did get plenty of improvements, but not everything.

1.Unlimited jumpseats with: SWA, AA, CAL, NW, Alaska (USAir and UAL Jan 1)
2.CASS jumpseats with everyone who is under CASS
3.Use of Flight Attendant Jumpseat when there are no stews requesting it
4.IF we are on jumpseat listing and miss our duty in due to late flight, we
are excused

DL connection pilots get preference over other CASS members too.

I would also LOVE to have unlimited with other airlines, like Airtran and Jetblue, but the company still holds the cards I guess....

Well you guys can come ride JS at JB anytime too bad it's not reciprocal..

Want to see Delta jumpseating in action? Just ride a JB flight from BTV on Fridays or Mondays.. A few weeks back had almost 10 Delta jumpseaters.. At delta on a narrow body that would be 9 JB pilots turned away

FP heard it from a pilot who heard it from a DL gate agent or manager. I rode home on DL the other day and the Captain made a point of telling me to let everyone know at AirTran that it was a bad rumor - because of the interline agreement, and that we can still jumpseat. It would have been nice if FP would have checked with the JS coordinator at AirTran and DL before he scared the bejeezes out of everyone tonight.

It's not the jumpseat agreement, it was the interline agreement. Get your facts right. DAL has dropped the "interline" agreement with Airtran. You can no longer buy ID 90/75's on Airtran. Jumpseat is still available.

Our VP of Flight Ops (the new one, starting on Sunday) said that it is in the works a couple of weeks ago. Apparently it is a paperwork thing at this point and JB is just waiting for the papers from Delta so we can sign them and make it official.

Explain that to DAL's gate agents.

Apparently Delta sent some sort of operations memo to the gate agents regarding AirTran and Delta cancelling their passenger interline agreement with each other. Gate agents thought this meant jumpseaters as well, but they were wrong.

Could someone on here from Delta get a copy of that memo and post it here so we can download it and take it with us to show gate agents who might not understand. Even better yet would be if Delta Flt. Ops. could issue a clarification memo specifically addressing the AirTran jumpseat issue and then that could get posted here for downloading.

Just a thought...

There are two issues going on here:

1) The first problem was that the Interline Travel Agreement, which was rescinded by Delta, confused some Gate Agents into wrongly concluding that the Jumpseat Agreement was also rescinded . . . .

2) The story I have heard from Union honchos is that the software that Delta uses to process OAL jumpseaters will not accomodate pilots from non-CASS carriers.

3) We are not on target for getting CASS approval on Sept 30 (today) because our D.O. only applied to the FAA for CASS approval, and was unaware that other Federal Agencies had to be involved as well. Too bad he refused the assistace offered dhim by the Union at the outset of the application process . . . .

Any idea on a new date for CASS approval and implementation?

Delta cancels interline agreement with AirTranSeptember 8, 2006
Q&A for Delta employees

Q. With the termination of the ITB agreement, will Delta employees still be eligible for reduced rate travel on AirTran and vice versa?
A.
No. As part of the ITB cancellation, our reduced rate travel agreement with AirTran will be terminated. Delta and AirTran could consider reinstating a separate agreement for employee travel in the future but at this time there are no immediate plans to do so.
Q. How many Delta employees fly on AirTran flights at reduced rates?
A.
Very few. In May, fewer than 70 ID90 flight segments were used by Delta employees on AirTran flights.

Q. If I'm traveling on an ID90 ticket on AirTran and I've already started travel can I fly on the return?
A.
Yes, your ticket will be valid provided you commenced travel prior to the cancellation of the agreement.
Q. If I have an ID90 ticket on AirTran but I have not started travel, will I be able to fly on that ticket after Oct. 8?
A.
No. You will need to have the ticket refunded at a Delta ticketing location.
Q. Does this change affect Delta pilots’ ability to jumpseat on AirTran or AirTran pilots’ ability to jumpseat on Delta?
A.
No. The Delta-AirTran jumpseat agreement is separate from other employee travel benefits.
Q. Would Delta consider reinstating employee ID90/ID75 privileges on AirTran in the future?
A.
Delta is always reviewing employee travel benefits to ensure they are as competitive as possible. Delta and AirTran could consider reinstating a separate agreement for employee travel in the future but at this time there are no immediate plans to do so due to the limited usage of the AirTran reduced rate travel agreement by our employees.
Q. Does this change Delta employees’ ability to travel on AirTran for company business and vice versa?
A.
Yes. As part of the ITB cancellation, our reduced rate travel agreement with AirTran will be terminated (including arrangements for company business travel). Delta and AirTran could consider reinstating a separate agreement for employee travel in the future but at this time there are no immediate plans to do so.

Next question should have been "How many airTran employees fly on Delta flights at reduced rates?"
A: Almost none. 10% of a $1,500 y-fare plus segment fees, TSA fees, and taxes makes it cost-prohibitive.

Couldn't resist... Useless agreement anyway. :D

p.s. I'll bet you a Starbucks that we don't see CASS implementation before Thanksgiving.
