You are correct. This has been going on for quite some time now. It has been my experience that the 1000 hr instructors have much better attitudes than the 350 hr pay for your job academy types. Putting in the time and sacrifice to instruct for 700 hrs or more shows a lot of dedication and self discipline. The academy and intern types have shown me a lot of mouth without much to back it up. They don't like the "old school" discipline in the cockpit, but they often turn into tyrants when they upgrade. Then they complain about the quality of new hires. Payback

Ditto for me also, Apache. I've had the same experience. About 65% of the academy types I've flown with have lots of mouth and not much to back it up with. Many don't have what I call "aviation common sense" for lack of a better term, that comes with experience. Deja-vu... I'm back to being a CFI once again!

But I still am pleasantly surprised when I fly with the 35% that impress me.

Men, I wish you hadn't posted this thread. I believe we just alerted and encouraged HS grads baby faces to go by a job at Riddle, RAA, Mesa, UND and the likes.

Airlines can't find pilots = airlines paying pilots more in an effort to get more interest. Supply & demand.

Potentially it means cabotage. Foreign pilots would love to fly throughout the U.S.
