How did this thread spin so wildy in just 2 pages?

I actaully know the answer to some of the questions here, but it's really mute.

Who will take over QX flying.....?????

I'll give you a hint....

It has 3 numbers between 1 and 8.

3...1...8...

3..1..8..

318s'...

Side question- Is Horizon shrinking after the Q200's to Commutair deal? Or are more Q400's in the works to maintain fleet size? I've got an old student of mine over there, he'd be furloughed if they do get smaller.

16 Q200's will be subleased to Commutair and we will have aquired 15 Q400's by July 07' for a net loss of one airframe as it stands now.

So word on the street is CommutAir already has pilots going thru class in PDX as we speak. Makes sense if they are getting the first one in January. Is Horizon ever going to announce anything official?? Bueller??

From Gene's Corner:

As you probably heard, we signed a lease with CommutAir for the first Q200 in an expected 16-aircraft deal. The remaining leases will be based on the boilerplate created by this first lease. It’s expected that the remaining leases will be completed in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, our Training department recently welcomed three CommutAir pilots and an FAA inspector to our facility. They are completing the Horizon Q200 initial course, including sim training. From there, we understand CommutAir will develop and train to its own approved training program.

I've heard that Commutair could use the reamaining 12 Q200's as well. Give it a few months and we might be down 13.

With all this going on, any ideas why we're still hiring so much?

As it stands now. We receive 13 more 400's by June of 07. The first 200 leaves January, followed by 1 per month starting in March. If I am adding correctly that would be plus 13 400's by June and minus 5 200's in the same month. So there will defineately be a surplus of aircraft next year that will not level out until January of 2008 assuming 0 options are excersized.

Whats so wrong with Yakima, its no worse than any of the other Shti-holes we stay. I'll take it over Medford or K-falls any day!

Yakima better than Medford!?! I want what you're smoking. The Medford hotel is less than a block from a strip club. The Yakima hotel is less than a block from almost certain bodily harm.

Even K falls beats out Crackima. I can almost taste the Vietnamese food. The question is what cities are we dropping when ALL the 200's leave.

Alright, the strip club (if thats what you want to call it) in Medford is handy if you've never been laid....or been to a real strip club.
Come on... the place is a complete dive. At least the showers in Yakima drain...unlike Medford where they not only don't drain, but they have to paint to bottom of the showers like an utility sink so we cant see fungus growing. I'd rather sleep in the airplane and take a shower with a sani-com instead of sleeping there.
Also, I've been more nervous walking to Red Robin in Medford than walking anywhere in Yakima.
I don't think anywhere we stay in the 200 is great, but Yakima isn't the worst, IMO.

Just goes to show you that two people can look at a pile of turds and find something to prefer about one of them.

Greetings from Yakima. I would like to thank you for a laugh.

Laughing at first, like...., that was funny..... and now laughing at how pathetic my life is, laughing at two guys fighting over which -200 sh-thole is better. You guys are great. Good night. Still laughing, shaking head.....

As for "if you've never been to a real strip club" comment. A UPS guy said some time back, tough to be too cocky at 3 a.m. in Flint. Fitting and ohh so applicable but here it is at 4 a.m. in (insert any QX Dash destination).

For the dispatcher, 604 smells like wet socks at low power settings. Do demons smell of wet socks?

Kelowna is a pretty good place though. Which means the 400 will steal that one as soon as possible.

Kelowna is a Native American name meaning, "Place of Whistling Doors, Hard Beds and Cold Rooms."

However, on the Medford scale of "Proximity to Debauchery" Kelowna ranks pretty well.

4 day trips in the 200 will consist of:

OTH YKM YKM PDX

9 hours in OTH after a 12 hour duty day, then 2 wonderful nights in Yakima. They will be issuing baseball bats to all 200 crews to take to dinner with them on the layover in YKM.

They will be issuing baseball bats to all 200 crews...

If I get stuck in the -200 until the last one leaves the property I'll be using the company-issued baseball bat on myself (and not in the way that some of you sickos are thinking).

Hooray for the CBA that locks FO's into aircraft types unless your name is Trump or Gates and you can afford that paycut eh? Gosh i sure hope that changes so when the 200 does degenerate into YKM YKM YKM PDX i can get off that sinking ship.

you guys who are bashing Bedford because of his religious beliefs are absolutley freaking dispicable in every way shape or form...to disagree with him because of some of his business motives is fine, but to bash him on a public thread because of his religious beliefs is just stupid, disrespectful and inmature...despite the fact that you think we as the pilot group at RAH are "dragging" the industry down...it is additudes like yours that truly rips pilot groups apart and makes the industry as desperatley meager as it is....grow up and find something better to do with your time....
Ditto....I could not have said it better...thanks

No one mentioned quality of beer drinking.

MFR: Good Beer
LMT: $1 Beer

YKM: Get killed trying to buy beer at the AM/PM :uzi:

Forget the beer. (Did I just say that?)

Y'all need to check out the Lotus room in YKM. $4.50 wells where it's basically a 3 shot cocktail. Good ambiance too. As for the strippers at the office in MFR, nothing beats Midget stripper night. Nothing!!! Y'all get lotusized now, y'here!

Lotus room: 1 block west of Olive Garden in the Golden Corral Chinese joint.

ps. Be looking for a blue page on qx gang hand signals in YKM
