PBS can't be the only item that the negotiator didn't like about the deal. It would have to be allot more than that for him to say that both sides are still too far apart. The big proble here is that ALPA has cut off all communications with the company w/o the negotiator present. Why would they do this? Even if you don't like what the other side is saying you must keep the lane of communications open to get this done. What is the union doing now? Sitting by the phone for the mediator to call. Haven't seen one of those ASAMEC update e-mails in awhile now.

The spin to get this contract done is so deep from both sides of the isle I had to pull my waders out of the closet. Go Around, call your ALPA buddies and tell them to re-open the lanes of communication.

If I'm a "management puke", then you are an ALPA "puke". You seem to believe everything ALPA says. That is stupid. ALPA has an agenda as does management. .

Yep, I'm definetly an ALPA puke, and proud of it. Been here way too long to trust any from of ASA management, Drivel. Of course ALPA has an agenda asaDrivel, and that's to fight for what the majority of the members want in this contract. For instance, we got scheduling TA'd, and now the company wants to can it by inserting PSB in it. So, get wasting your time with your pro-management spin. It ain't working.

So you're admitting that BL is lying re his koolaid letter today because he didn't bring up PSB as part of what stopped negoiations the last goaround, huh asaDrivel?

VOTED IN FAVOR!

I'm not speaking for nor defending BL. It is ALPA that has said PBS is what stopped negotiations, and that seems silly to me. By the way, why do you keep calling it PSB?

I don't care what happened in the past. We can't live in the past, we need to work towards the future. Both sides have made mistakes up until this point. There isn't anything "funny" about this. Skywest has PBS. Delta has PBS. CMR has PBS. Why is ASA ALPA so opposed to PBS. Almost every other carrier has PBS.

Alright vinegar man!!!!

We got this here thing called an election coming up. Run on a platform based on everything you've ever posted on this board and let's see what happens.

The union is like a gun in the house my friend. I don't like having it there one darn bit. It could cause me great harm if imroperly used or mishandled. But since I live in a high-crime area, I gotta have the gun. I'm better off with it, than without.

Now now asaDrivel, put down the koolaid for a minute. Work towards the future! What the hell do you think we did with the newly TA'd scheduling section? It's a huge improvement over what we have right now. And guess what! It's for the future dummy! You're losing track of your spin asaDrivel. Careful, BL's watching you.

Why do you keep calling it PSB? As far as ALPA fighting for the majority, I believe the majority wants to prevent our jobs from being transferred to Skywest. Is ALPA doing that? Is ALPA protecting our jobs? The company spin might not be working, but it doesn't seem the ALPA spin is working very well either - that is when ALPA even bothers to say much.

Who says ALPA and their constituents are opposed? The fact is, the company did a bait-and-switch on section 13. Can't do that and expect the association to roll over on it. If the 700's all go away, you can spank man-pilot behinds in the crew room and say- "you boys have been bad!".

As a fellow gun owner, I agree with your analogy. I believe the "gun" or the "union" is a necessary evil, but I also believe it is being used improperly. As you said, if used improperly, it can cause us all great harm. Don't be so blinded by your belief in the union to overlook when it is being used improperly.

ALPA negotiators said they were opposed in the ASA crew lounge. In fact they said the rest wasn't that bad, but PBS is what stopped. Seems pretty short sighted to me.

Ok, so I'm an ALPA idiot. Your point? You ain't changing my mind asaDrivel.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

I'm not trying to change your mind. Obviously your mind is made up. ALPA can do no wrong as far as your concerned. Hopefully others who read aren't as blinded by ALPA.

Guess that doesn't apply to management springing that on the CNC huh asaDrivel? Or did you mean short sighted on the company's part to do that after the scheduling section was TA'd? You're a piece of work asaDrivel!

VOTED IN FAVOR!

So because we are pissed about PBS, we are going to drag this contract out indefinately and watch as our aircraft are transferred to Skywest. Brilliant strategy ALPAMan.

We TA'd the scheduling section and we're happy with it Drivel. try to get that through your management-induced brain willya! If the company wants PSB, oops I did it again, sorry, PBS, then after the entire contract is ratified by membership (do you get to vote asaDrivel?) PBS can be accomplished by a letter of agreement. If scheduling is opened, we're in for another 1-2-3 years!

I believe the company offer allowed a year and a half to negotiate the PBS section - didn't it?

Has ALPA suggested this or are they still waiting by the phone?
