Hey fellas,

Was doing some research on getting a recurrent done out of my pocket and thought I might pass on some of my findings. This information is proving very useful to me and I thought I might pass it on! Also I'd like to ask that if anyone has any additional info to add about other companies, or classes offered but not listed (ie Falcon 2000 recurrent) please post them so we can make a better list.

Thanks

thanks to boogie-nicey pprune!

Is it just me, or do most of those prices seem a bit low (expecially the corp. stuff)? I'm starting Lear 60 initial at FSI next week and it was significantly more than posted above, and they were cheaper than what Simuflite quoted us.

ElCid88,

I went to PrestoSIM back in April and had a good experience. I only had 2 days available to complete the recurrent and they really worked with me to get it done. We just added an extra hour of sim each day.

The instructors were either ex-FlightSafety or SimuFlite and knew their stuff.

The manuals leave a little to be desired, but for a recurrent they weren't too bad. I took my old FlightSafety/SimuFlite manuals to study in the room.

The sim worked well. It doesn't have GPS or FMS, so like in the "olden days" you have to know where you are in relation to where you're going.

You can't beat the price. We paid for 2 pilots and the total cost was $4359 less a new client discount of $559 for a total price of $3,800 each.

If you're really interested in going, call them and ask for their best price and discount, etc., and they will really work with you because they are just getting started and really want your business.

Best Wishes,

Ultraman

They seems little low to me too, but it is pretty cool looking at all those figures, Doesñt Warren Buffet own a bunch of the training facilities

As for the Airline types believe it or not they are pretty accurate. Remember there are a lot more confered than corporate types. Plus the evil lords of FSI keep the prices super high.

I thought the LR60 price tag for training was high. We pay $16200 for initial. We training in several other aircraft mentioned above and I can tell you that we pay thousands less then the mentioned training events,

I think I may have forgot to engage my brain. Our price is for a full service contract. $26.4K/pilot - 6 pilots going to initial. I don't know what they quoted us for just the type.

When I was flying contract.. I inquired about some recurrent training events (ie Falcon 900B, Falcon 50/50ex, and Falcon 10) They are all expensive, but when I told them I was a contract pilot they came off their price even more... BUT! Here's the trick... Flight Safety and Simuflite WANT ever schedualed class to have clients in it.. So.. If you catch them at the right time you can get a heck of a deal.. For example, I called about a Falcon 50 recurrent about 2 months ago. They initially quoted 14,900 or something close to that... So I told them I would think about it... Then the next day they called and said "If you can be here for class day after tomorrow we'll lower the price to $11,600." So learn how to play they game, they'll negotiate for the most part...
