Any news from Zantop? What about their L188's? I think there are only now two operators in the world of Electra's. Air Atlantique and Amerer Air in Austria. Shame really, cool airplane. And talk about screwing the pooch, Zantop had YIP locked up, whut hapen?

Don't know anything about them, other than there's a whole bunch of them sitting (many engine-less) at YIP. Would've been fun to fly one...

I was in the pattern at YIP with one of the Zantop L-188's #344. Rumor is they have one airplane and one flight crew remaining and they are laying off office staff. They have been parting out the airplanes to keep the end of the fleet flying. I loved flying that airplane and it sad to see them disappear. Maybe with rising price of fuel it might make a comeback. It is the props that are spelling the end of L-188's flying.

I believe it was one of the sad, kids inherited the company that the old many had built then bled it dry, stories. I know several ex zantop guys, sounds like it was a good place in days gone by.-kingaira90
