you have to be kidding me. this is exactly what is wrong with corporate america. how much money did they waste on this completely asinine campaign? management walks away from these failing businesses with millions of dollars and this is what we get . YOU MAKE US FLY! this whole thing is so disgusting and patronizing i want to vomit. how stupid exactly do they think their employess are? you want to make us feel better take the millions of dollars you spent on this worthless campaign and put it in our mailboxes instead of those worthless booklets. blah blah blah blah .. i spit in your general direction doug parker.

Someone not familiar with the "I makes us..." campaign spread a rumor that free pizzas were part of the profit sharing on the F gates last night :crying: :D

Dude, don't bash the free millions of Dollars worth of pizza.

What a joke.

Want an easy way to increase moral?
Management should be forced to take Ethics classes. Ongoing.

Threating us, telling us that we are going to be closed Wed, and Go Jerks
is going to take our flying, does NOT increase moral!
Staying in Industrial parks does NOT increase moral.
Lowest industry wages does NOT increase moral.
Understaffed airlines do NOT increase moral.
Management giving themselves 12 million dollar bonuses does NOT....
Getting my pay check right the first time DOES increase moral.
Where do i start with scheduling?

DP R U LISTENING?

Did u notice how Coca Cola was all over the booklet??? I bet they paid for most of it anyways. Us Air is too cheap to spend it!

regardless of who paid for it it's money poorly spent and a slap in the face of all of usair's employees. i thought dougie was a lot smarter than this.

Heh heh its like makeup on a ugly fat chick.....

She is still ugly and fat!

You guys over at PDT need to bring R.O. out of retirement to make one of his classic code-a-phones in response to this BS.

R.O.'s code-a-phones were a cheap, not-as good imitation as the legendary messages produced by B.H.

Is it just me or has US become the apitamy of a scumbag operation?

That's bad seeing as you have a signature making fun of G.W. (which I'm not a fan of) and then you do that sound it out and spell it nonsense.

US Airways' marketing ploy crashes
Tom Fontaine, Times Staff

US Airways Group Inc. recently launched an internal marketing campaign called "I
Make US
Fly" that tries to unify employees from the merged company's two former airlines
under a
set of new corporate philosophies.

The response of many employees to "I Make US Fly," union leaders say, has been
"You
Make Me Sick."

The colorful campaign literature, which is being distributed to the airline's
35,000
employees, fashions the new US Airways as a worker-driven low-cost carrier with
a
"business casual" approach.

That approach meets somewhere in the middle of the two former airlines. The old
US
Airways, which had been based in the eastern United States, was a more formal
airline that
catered largely to business travelers, while America West, based in Tempe,
Ariz., was
geared more toward vacation travelers, said company spokesman Morgan Durrant.

"We'll cater to our important business and leisure customers, but not in an
overly formal
way. ... We're concentrating on what our customers want most, without a lot of
fluff," the
campaign literature says.

The literature includes customer-service flashcards for each of the airline's
employee
groups. The No. 1 rule for each of them, from reservation agents and ramp
workers to
corporate employees: "Being friendly and helpful ... all the time."

Union reps panned the campaign.

"It's birdcage material. It paints everything as a rosy picture, and it's not,"
Mike Flores,
spokesman for the US Airways flight attendants union, said of the literature.

The flight attendants are among a handful of union groups from the former US
Airways
and America West in the process of negotiating joint contracts with the airline.

After the new US Airways announced it posted a $305 million second-quarter
profit, union
leaders said they wanted their workers to be rewarded for sacrifices made in the
past,
including billions in concessions during the former US Airways' two
bankruptcies.
However, US Airways Chief Executive Officer Doug Parker has said he wants to
reach joint
contracts without increasing labor costs.

Further riling the rank-and-file, union leaders said, were recent announcements
that
Parker made roughly $9 million selling company stock last week and that
management
employees are in line to receive 3 percent pay increases this fall.

"If anyone thinks for one minute that whitewashing serious labor unrest with
cosmetics
will cover up deep-rooted problems, this airline is in serious trouble," said
Capt. Jack
Stephan, spokesman for the US Airways pilots group.

"The campaign is nice window-dressing, but if they want to increase morale, they
need to
do that at the bargaining table," added Capt. Tania Bziukiewicz, spokeswoman for
the
America West pilots group.

Coca-Cola, which beat out Pepsi to sell its products on the new US Airways'
flights, paid to
produce the literature and a related video. The cost could not be determined
Tuesday.

You want to hear a great code a phone response? Try the USAir MEC Chairman message dated Aug 7th. (1-800-FOR-ALPA ; option 2) Man, it was great. One thing is for sure. Those East Coast USAir guys are going to give Doogie a lesson in Labor Relations 101 that he and his cronies never got in grad school, a lesson that is long overdue, and unfortunatly, our MEC; both past and present, refuse to "teach".Oh,and the response from the AWA MEC ? The best word that comes to mind without getting banned from this webboard would be "lame". And that's being charitable.
