So many clueless aspects to this Consumerist blog entry and its comments. Not only were these people hanging onto these NONrev STANDBY tickets for a honeymoon, but they didn't even know (or care) the employee DIDN'T even WORK there anymore.

The Consumerist is such a joke now, it's pathetic (yet they claim to make commenters "audition" only to be banned if they speak sensibly about irrational airline posts). Anything to rage against the big bad airlines, even when its invalid nonrev.

Make sure your "buddies" don't get you all fired out there is the takeaway note, I guess....

I feel for the OP; it sounds like she got screwed by a dubious "buddy". As to the responses, f-em. Ignorant losers. This is why I never give out passes....

The guy they got the passes from kind of screwed them. I'm not using my employee passes for my honeymoon, I wouldn't allow someone use my buddy passes for their honeymoon. Waaaaay too risky...

Well-

When people spend a couple hundred bucks each on "buddy" pass, I can see why they would get upset when they figure out how useless they can be.

Look for a sale-you will get a confirmed seat, and likely save money over a stinking "buddy" pass.

-Delta does itself no favors by handing these things out. When is the last time you gave one to a friend, only to get them all pissed about how they were treated? Every one of these people will remember that experience the next time they have to pay for a regular flight.
