Just wondering what one could expect to make in gross pay in year two. I'm not trying to get bunch of you to argue like idiots over whether or not its professional to talk about I'm just trying to plan out a career path.

Thanks in advance

Also, could you guys please help me decide between red bananas or yellow bananas. The red ones are smaller, yet more expensive. The yellow ones cost less, and I am very familiar with them, yet I'd like to try something new. Oy, the choices! If it helps, I usually eat my bananas within 4 days of purchasing them.

I am gong to be at 50K for 2nd year. Counting Per diem and profit sharing.

I don't commute and have learned the pay system pretty well. so i can maximize my pay and qol. Every ones numbers will be different though.

But that doesn't count company match on my 401k which has been a decent amount. FWIW

I am sure Whiskys is pretty comparable. you would be good with both companies.

$42,000 including per diem is about average for second year at XJT. Some people who know how to milk the system can be closer to 50k, I have one friend who earned 48, although the last two months of that were on 3rd year pay.

whatup jim?? Try comair/asa...eaaaasy commute to atl or cvg from where u are!

50k a year? I'll have to do something about that.

you know damn well airlinepilotcentral only gives you the rates not what you'll make in a year. If your not going to post anything useful why waste your time. To those who responded intelligently thanks.

Jim,

If you are trying to plan out a career, you should look at many more things than 2nd year pay. I imagine that it is common knowledge that the pay and work rules will be similar at AWAC and XJET, but 2nd year pay is not going to help you upgrade or build a sustainable career. FWIW, you will make 40,000 at either airline, and it will be anyone's guess what will happen beyond that.

Eric,

Yea i know I have a lot of different options right now. I'd like to get on with xjet or awisc because of an easy commute to where I live. 2nd year pay is just part of it. Upgrade isnt really that important to me because I only plan on flying for about 10 more years. Hopefully if i get hired that will be my last flying job. 2nd year pay is a lot more important to me than it will be to pilots planning on flying for the rest of their careers.

HOLY F#$%ING S#!T man you work too hard!

I flew 711 hours and came up just short of 30k at XJT. I do commute and strive for that 18 day off month. Thats not including perdiem because perdiem is to be spent on food and beer.

Yeah I timed out for the year at the end of Nov. but still managed almost 14 days off a month prior and had all of DEC off. Usually 2 day trips back to back really add up and i am home every other day for 4 days then 3 off in between. Plus I pick up a redeye every now and again, Easy money. Not commuting rules!!

Funny story about Per Diem:

When I was a new hire Beech FO at CoEx, I asked the IOE CA I was flying with about pay sheets, block time, per diem, etc. He looked at me and said "I can make this real simple, If per diem was part supposed to be part of the compensation package, they would have already added to your hourly rate!!!"

Not trying to start a debate over per diem, just thought it was a good story!
