The late Eric Beard's Yak-54 is for sale: $160K. That seems pretty doggone pricey to me.
I'm wondering what some of you knowledgable aerobatic-types think of this price. Sonny Crockett, chime in.

He was killed doing a cargo run in a Piper. The WX was 100' broken, and 800' overcast. He was trying to do an ADF approach, and hit the trees about a half mile short of the runway. It was back in Jan 06. His wife is selling the aircraft.

Man, I can't believe I didn't hear about that...

As far as the price... not sure. That's roughly what they cost new about eight or nine years ago. In many cases unlimiteds hold their value well, and sometimes even go up a little. That being said, I'm not sure that would be the case for an older '54. It does sound a little pricey for what I'm sure is a higher time airplane (and one of the oldest).

RIP Eric.
