It's like pilots that say, "with you" on the radio. That's my pet peeve for the day...until tomorrow. Discuss!
Back to the topic ---> In certain larger wide bodied aircraft the pilots can actually select the pack flow to lo, high or medium. On others the pack flow is automatically selected depending on the number of passengers on board (which you input in the FMC).
So yeah, I would say that the airlines are trying to save money by not having the airco at full whack the whole flight. And, yeah, I do agree with them doing so. Fuel is expensive these days, do not underestimate how much it would cost an airline on a yearly basis to fly with full pack flow.
Now, if passengers want to pay more for the privilege of a a higher flow though the cabin, I am listening...
