Ya, I just want to go to Houston next week...thats it not asking much. Curious though, on the reply email with the XJT HR questions, would a couple busted rides back in flight training matter?
As long as you take responsaility for the failures, it's not an issue.

4000 HRS ??? $hit! How did you get hired at the other side with just 4000 hrs. I applied 8 months ago with 5000 hrs and got squat. Damn!

Maybe I should clarify, I heard that negotiations for pay scale was being drawn up or would be soon. Not a flying contrat. Still no?

And I will clarify further as well...there is absolutely no negotiations going on right now for larger aircraft.

It helps to have a guaranteed interview.

This is to those of you who are ragging on Neal about going to CAL.

Sometimes you have to make your own opportunities. Neal put his career on hold for several years, which included delaying his captain upgrade training, so that he could negiotiate our contract. In the process, he made some solid connections that helped him secure a job at CAL. Well, you know what? Great for him.

As far as his "lack" of PIC time goes, I flew with Neal not too long after he finished upgrade training and I though he was a great captain who ran a good ship and flew the plane well.

I know it is frustrating to see junior guys with less time get hired ahead of you, but Neal worked hard for our contract and put that work to good use. Don't fault him for it. If you want to increase your odds, then get involved. And implying that he may not have the experience is a cheap shot, in my book.

Relax Francis,

I am kidding. I have no problem with what Neal has done.

No problem. I wasn't sure if yours was sarcasm or not. It's just that Neal has been bashed in the past about this, especially on our boards, and I didn't think it was fair.

The funny thing is the only ignorance being displayed in this thread is that of your own. If you took the time to figure out who "BluDevAv8r" really is you might see that he is probably the MOST credible source within our pilot group regarding the outlook for XJT...he's rather "involved" shall we say perhaps I'll leave it at that. But never mind you probably don't even care.

I thought he is a CAL pilot?????

Well he is now. He got hired at mainline about 3 months ago I think. He was the old Neg chairman for XJT during Contract 04 negotiations.

As far as him waiting to upgrade I think the flowback had a bit more to do with that.

I'm just poking fun at XJT'ers that don't know who he is.

Flowback, been there done that too along with over half our seniority list.

I'm sure he will do well over there, which will convince CAL that hiring XJT'ers is a good thing. This will hopefully mitigate any furloughs at XJT. I just wish they would do it in seniority order and not from the middle and bottom as in some cases. Sometimes I miss the single MEC, but not that often.

Yea, Dave was just pushing buttons. :) But the flowback caused a lot of us to have a "delayed" left seat. In my case it was about 3 years but then I also delayed the upgrade about another 8 months on top of the 3 years due to contract negotiations. It wasn't a huge deal.

3 years for me as well and 1 year for Cleveland back when the getting was supposedly "good".

Hows CAL treating ya Neal?
