All the people that realize our fabulous either 0% for EMB or pathetic 1% for the majority of the CRJ fleet, for a 10 year period of time...is verrrrry sad!!!
All the while Skyw Inc. continues to make quarter after quarter, and year after year of record profits!

Why dont you go to an airline that you feel more appreciated!

In terms of what? Getting the flying? Well in our case we weren't asked to take pay cuts or give anything up. So I guess unlike what managment of other carriers out there want you to believe, no our pay was not the driving factor.

Actually we got raises!!

Believe it when i see it, which i hear is early feb. We shall see.

So can we all look forward to this whipsaw garbage for the rest of our time at the regionals? Every week a different RFP and a different result. WTF ALPA?

Who got whipsawed? We didn't take a paycut and neither did you.

Lucky me I dont get to fly with your sorry arse. Why dont you put that 737 rating to good use?

Afraid you might actually learn to be a little more professional, or just like the flavor of kool-aid so much you don't want to be in a kool-aid free environment ya candyarse?

According to today's WSJ, ExpressJet hasn't been awarded any RFP's. Not trying to stir the pot, just relaying the info. I do wish you guys luck though in launching your own airline. According to the WSJ article, it sounded pretty promising.

Thats because we havent announced it yet. Its coming. Stay tuned. I read the article about the branded flying and if it meets the hype that people have about it it should do well. We'll see.

If you guys win Delta flying, CO will find out what you're doing it for (expect someone who oversees DCI contracts to get hired in the next year at CO), they will expect the same. At that point, your mngt will seek to "secure it's core business" (John Spanjers quote), lower its rates to CO and may very well come back to the employees with it's hand out.
Unless, of course, you guys do well with the other stuff - then you can tell CO to shove it, and concentrate on more profitable business.

I understand wanting to diversify, even wanting to beat RAH at it's own game. What I don't understand (assuming the Delta rumor has substance), is why you would accept lower margins to do Delta flying, when you could have just lowered the rates on those aircraft to CO. Also, if XJT's other ventures are primed for success and are more profitable than fee-for-departure (as I've heard from XJT friends), then why not deploy these resources in those areas. The Delta RFP has shaved alot of profit off the DCI operators fees - why would XJT want to get in there??

I hope your venture succeeds, but something about this rumor smells funny - maybe it's just FI.

With 10 planes or less we can charge what we want. and that only counts for the 69 planes. So how i understand it, if we get more planes we can do that at whatever we want also. So maybe our mgmt wanted to get a new codeshare going to build a rep. Who knows man, its the airline business nothing really makes since.

Taking flying at a loss ............ mmmmmmmmmm.

Maybe you'll make it up on volume.

We could have flown for free. CAL wanted to diversify it's feed. We were no more, no less than CHQ. We have the infrastructure in place and could have lowered the price, but no price would have been too low. + 2% is what they wanted, that's CHQ deal. Even then, 274 A/c at +2% or 205 at +10%. You do the Math.

In '04 during the 2 year contract negotiation we started to picket and CAL realized that 41% of their route structure was in danger. Ding Ding, maybe we shouldn't have sold them. SO they gave us our contract. But they also knew that if they did not want that to happen again that they needed to diversify.

So there is why....... but I am sure there is a few CEO's in here that know better. :)

It was a joke - how would I know what you guys are getting for anything?

My one hope for this potential Delta flying is that we fly our planes in our colors. None of this Delta Xxxxxxxx BS. Horizon has their planes painted in their colors, I hope the same for us.

Wait for the press release. This is the 4th deal that has been 99.9% done in the last six months. The other three were AMR, Midwest, and Frontier. Seems as if the AMR deal was a hoax, Midwest went to Republic, and SKYW got Frontier. This DAL rumor could be just like the rest so don't get all worked up until it is official. Union rumors don't count as official. I also like how it is 99.9% done. Why can't it be 88.8% done?

47% of all statistics are made up on the spot. think about that.

Or as Homer J. said, "Aw, people can come up with statistics to prove anything...Forty percent of all people know that."

Yeah...right. Horizon is a part of Alaska that has always been branded as "Horizon". They aren't Alaska Express. You will see our planes in DAL colors if we get that flying.
