Announced on the Director of Flight Ops voicemail today. Looks like 1 to 2 classes per month through the end of the year and beyond. That equates to 32-64 newhires per month for the rest of 06 and most likely upgrades to match that. So, upgrades at XJT will be between 20-24 months for the next year. This is in response to the plans for the 69 aircraft that XJT is KEEPING.

Nothing until people like you bring it up (no offense meant). It's just that this week; seemingly out of nowhere, the 100 options are being thrown around. Embraer is almost done with the XR. Only two more are arriving then the line is shut down. Why would the Jims want XRs when 175s could be had for a similar price. JMHO.

BTW, I agree...Bush does hate us.

So then I guess the options, are no longer an option so to speak.... People I have talked to said we wouldn't get larger than 50 seats... Who knows..

Exactly...no one really knows. Whatever happens, I'll be just as suprised as you.

Well, CAL just went to ALPA and asked them to start talks on small jet feed. Take that for what it is worth, but it may be to see if they can have CHQ use 170's since they aren't getting any of our 145's. The CAL pilots won't go for that so CAL will end up with a shortage of 145 XR's unless they continue to use XJT and not CHQ. Most of the routes the XR's do can only be done with an XR, a CRJ700 or 900, or an E170 or E190. Other 50 seat jets cannot do what the XR does as far as range and payload. CAL loves the XR for what it can do. XJT apparently has already found homes for all 69 of the airplanes we are keeping. So, if CAL needs XJT to continue to fly XR's for them, then XJT will exercise the right for those options and get more XR's to use for CAL and XJT will then use those other 69 airplanes for whatever they have found to do with them. If this all comes true, XJT really pulled a good one on CAL because they took 69 of their airplanes and will use them to work for a competitor and XJT will get to keep all 274 airframes at CAL. It's funny how this whole XJT/CAL mess changes on a daily basis. It is starting to appear that CHQ may never be seen in a CAL hub.

The word I have heard is that it is not a negotiation for scope, but a negotiation for payrates.
(Read smaller airplanes at CAL flown by full CAL pilots)

To get 70 seat scope out of CAL pilots they would have to give back everything they got in the last concessions and more!!!

All of the regional airline guys who have to bigger airplane boner dont realize that every EMB-170/190 CRJ 700/900 flown at a regional is one less airplane at the majors and less jobs at the majors.

That's great news!

Anyone ever consider that maybe 170/190's might come to XJT fo fly for another carrier or for ourselves and the company isnt hinting at it because they dont want competition to stomp on the plans before they even start. Just a thought. The 100 options are easily transfered over to the 170 or 190s Embraer would love nothing more than to never build another 50 seater and would probably give us a hell of a deal on something bigger just so they dont have to get the 145 line up and running again. Again who knows till it happens. In the conference call mgmt mentioned that they feel like we are going to need more airplanes. Things are looking good fellas. Just goes to show you dont have to take paycuts to ensure additional flying.
