What happens if the company cancels profit sharing on 30 DEC 2005????

What do you get for the last year...? NOTHING! Sub par pay rates

UNION says: You get 3% raise...only starting when profit sharing is cancel

Hello... We would have just work the whole year under non-industry leading pay rates.

If the company and union love profit sharing so much why did they not get the 3% raise retro to the begin of the year?

If you leave for better places i.e. “Home Depot” you get no profit sharing… Again you just worked under non-industry leading pay rates…

Profit sharing should be pro rated if you leave for CAL or better places…

Did anyone besides the company take into account the cost saving this will save the company? How many pilots are planning to go on to better jobs? Make sure you do it on Jan 1 or you will be giving your money back to the company…

Wake up... Ask hard questions and don't listen to any scare tactics… but more importantly VOTE

Flame bait. Go to the roadshow and ask this question. Barring another catastrophic event, there will be profit sharing until the CPA is modified.

So the contract is good for a min of 4 years and the CPA expires when................Personally I think we'll see the 3% sooner than that.

"Scare tactics?" You won't find any "scare tactics" at our presentations. The above post, on the other hand, is absolutely a "scare tactic."

For starters, it is flat out wrong in substance and form. Secondly, the rhetoric posted above is indicative of someone who would post "yellow journalism" in order to sway the uninformed to their viewpoint. All we ask is that our pilots take 3 to 4 hours to attend a road show presentation. Nothing less. Nothing more.

How do I know it is wrong? Because I participated in the writing of the Profit Sharing Termination Language. If the plan is terminated on December 30, the Company has 3 choices:

1. They can make the effective date of the termination the 30th, in which case they would pay profit sharing for 11 months and 30 days.

2. They can make the effective date of the termination 2 days later on January 1, in which case they will pay profit sharing for the full year 2005.

3. They can "back date" the termination effective date to January 1, 2005, in which case we will be paid retroactive pay at 3% higher rates.

Yes, this is what we agreed to. Yes, we have notes on this subject.

Furthermore - please do not put words in the "union's" mouth by saying that the "union loves profit sharing so much." That simply isn't the case. Variable compensation in the airline industry is a reality however. And yes, of course I think you should be entitled to a pro-rated amount of profit sharing if you leave XJT but unfortunately, the XJT profit sharing plan, as written and approved by the BOD, simply isn't written that way.

To my fellow XJT pilots:

Please don't fall prey to anonymous emotional rhetoric. Please attend a road show and keep an open mind and make sure to participate in the Q&A session so as to have all of your questions and concerns addressed. Thank you!

Once again, this is misleading information. The CPA does not expire January 1, 2007, as many are led to believe. CAL hub jet exclusivity goes away but the agreement continues in full force and effect.

Neal:

Thanks for the info & hardwork.... Some of us can not attend the road show and just reading the black & white in the contract without the notes is hard to do...Why aren't the 3 option in the contract? Can you make a Q&A to the hardest questions you have gotten at the road show and If possible can you put a tape of the road show on the web to download...

Can there be a better example than this thread of why every XJet pilot needs to have his or her questions or concerns addressed and anwered before you make up your mind.

If you can't get to a roadshow, simply make a list of question and concerns you have about this TA. Compile that list over the next few weeks and then seek out the anwers that you need. If nothing else email your questions to the NC and someone will get back to you.

Can you make a Q&A to the hardest questions you have gotten at the road show and If possible can you put a tape of the road show on the web to download...
This is a great idea and thankfully is already in the works...

I'd be more than happy to discuss these issues with you. Shoot me an email or call me...or better yet, attend a road show. If you couldn't get to one of the 4 we've done already, there are 18 more scheduled. There is absolutely no excuse to not attend a presentation. If I have to, I will go to every pilot's house, door to door, to make sure everyone is properly informed prior to the vote (whichever way they choose to vote).

Didn't "they" name an award after the individual responsible for starting the practice of "yellow journalism"?
I have no clue. I'm surprised that I even remembered the term, "yellow journalism" from history class, but it seemed to fit quite nicely in this situation.

Have a nice day. :D

Neal,

I was slightly undecided until I saw the Negotiating Committees brief the other day. Very nice job, that scheduling section kicks ass!!!

It's not surprising to see that all the Union leadership and negotiators endorse this deal.

Will you guys do some kind of "When scheduling calls" again? Since the sched section is so much better I hope it will be easier to work with scheduling. Or at least train their weekly new hires down there!

I post mildly over here because other airlines' pilots read the misinformation here. If pilots want my input, they can come to a road show, email expressunity, or post on calforums (where they must use their real name). The mud slinging going on at the other forum is embarrassing.

BlueDev: Are you a Capt or First Officer?
It shows he's an F/O in his signature and also under "current position" in the info section under the screen name/avatar.

Neal,

I totally understand why you avoid posting on the other forum. It's just unfortunate that there will be some voting decisions formed by those who read the angry and millitant viewpoints from posters on those forums. Posters who haven't taken the time to attend the road show and see things from all sides.
