Does anyone have any better ideas of what to do with 69 50 seat jets? Currently 21 are flying for Delta, 2-4 for Frontier, 9 charter, 205 CAL, and about 37 for Branded. If your an invester you could say we should have given the planes back to CAL and done our best not to lose another 51 in 2 years. It's my feeling that if we gave the planes back our stock would still have tanked, we would have furloughed about 600 pilots and CAL would not have hesitated to cancel the whole CPA and take all the planes within a year. As a pilot for Expressjet I want to give managment a medal for not letting "operated by CHQ" be slapped on the airframes. I'm not saying they made their dicision based on not furloughing, but I really don't care. Because of their "terrible" dicision to keep the planes I was able to upgrade along with hundreds of other pilots. I know the future is very shaky for XJT, but those are the realities of the airline pilot profession. About every year the term "poor bastards" can be directed at a different pilot group. In recent memory TSA, MESA, Air Wis, Mesaba, ASA, Comair, I guess it's just our turn.
