Is it possible to drop or pickup begining or ending legs of your trips so that you can start/end where you live rather than your base? I've heard of this at other airlines but do they have this sort of thing at coex?

Sorry, no.

You can personal drop the last turn of a pairing if there is adequate coverage. They won't let you drop a leg at an outstation to let you go home early. That would be a logistical nightmare.

you can drop anything as long as it goes through a base. Ca coverage is Sh!tty but fo coverage has been decent of late. New fo's but not a lot of CA upgrades yet!!! Lord knows they need the upgrade!!! About 95% of the guys n gals are very cool!!! Who knows whats going to happen in the next few years, xjt may have a base in LA and reduce flights out of cle...its all up to big cal and the Capacity Purchase agreement and the contract!!!

the only time i've seen scheduling allow someone to drop a trip at an outstation, was when my capt. lived in chicago, and mdw was the last turn of the pairing. there was a jumpseater going to work. scheduling allowed my capt to drop that leg, and the jumpseater to fly it.

long time ago, though, and was just luck of the draw that there was a capt. jumpseating, in uniform, willing to work early.

Also how many buddy passes do you all get?

We get 20 (one way) buddy passes per year. Each one way pass is $52.50 (plus tax). So they are pretty much a rip off. I hardly ever give mine away. If you shop around a little you can normally buy a seat on an LCC for that much. (when you buy a seat you know you will get there unlike standby!)

Is it $52.50 for the entire one-way trip, or just per segment? If you only need two buddy passes for a complete domestic roundtrip it doesn't sound like that bad a deal. How do they work internationally?

No, buddy passes are for friends, ect. The charges are one way. For example if you went from the JFK to DFW it would cost $52.50 (plus tax) to get there and $52.50 (plus tax) to get back. I believe buddy passes to central america are $100 (plus tax) each way (could be wrong on this one). I can't remember how much they are to Asia. Buddys can not travel internationally unless you or your travel companion (or spouse) travel with them.

We have a travel companion which for married people is their spouse. Your children are also included in this. For these people it is $12.50 (plus tax) each way. It does not matter if you make a connection in a hub, they don't charge you by the "leg" but by the trip.
