I will just clarify this its not 19 months because thats where i am and i havent upgraded yet but its getting close . Its right at 2 years from newhire to in upgrade class. That might go down depending on how many senior FOs stay fos for the charter pay and or senior schedules.

I'll clarify this even further. I'm at 24 months and am not holding CA, I'm really close but it's not on paper yet.

I don't know where people are getting this info that Comair will go under by the end of the year. Don't believe the knuckleheads on this board. We are losing about 36 pilots a month. Comair pilots are one the best groups of people to work with. Yes it is rough times for the company. Who knows what the future will bring. Hopefully we get the flying from Big 'D' As far as uniforms it works to about $25 per paycheck deducted. More than likely you'll get JFK out of training. I got a line after one month on reserve. Hopes this helps.

Here is a balanced view of XJT including some pros and cons, with a few clarifications about earlier posts.
I spent 364.00 w/ Cintas for uniforms.. 2 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, blazer, and a tie. Unfortunately, they are deducting 20.00 twice a month instead of the 10.00 that they said they would.
I am holding a relief line after 3 months reserve, AND I got Thanxgivin' off w/ a total of 16 days off this month and I was only 10 numbers from the bottom of the relief lines!
We are not getting any new XR's, but are re-configuring some current ones that we already have for the charter department. The pay and work rules for this will also be nice, including priveleges to deadhead from your home to work!
The announcement regarding the remainder of our airplanes should be around Nov.8th, or 12th, -I keep hearing differing stories. The deal with the 25 planes going to MX isn't certain yet, but there is still a possibility.
The training department continues to recruit new hires through the end of the year along with upgrade classes at the rate of 2-3 classes per month.
Not sure about IAH being the junior base, but it would be IAH or EWR.
Hope that helps.

Comair won't be gone by the first of the year. We're being 1113'd this week. We'll be around for a while.

Pay rates at ExpressJet are the second highest in the industry for a 50 seat a/c. With the new contract we were 7% behind Comair. Comair has frozen their pay. That means in Dec. the payrates at Expressjet will only be 1% behind Comair. ExpressJet also has profit sharing that has worked out to about 4% to 5% of your yearly pay.

Some other benefits of the contract at ExpressJet:
1) No training on days off. Company must buy your trip. Or you can volunteer to train on your day off for 3:45 at 150%.
2) Uniform rebursement after one year of service at $150.00/ year
3) Best retirement package in the regional industry. 401k match 100% for the first 4%. Also 2.5% automatically added even if you but nothing in to your 401k. After 5 years the numbers go 5% and 4% automatic. There is another bump after10 years.
4) Line holders 12 days off min.
5) Back side of the clock rules. 11 hours duty, max 2 legs.
6) Taxi cab paid for by the company if hotel van has not picked you 30 minutes after block in.
7) Pay protected for any canceled flying.

There is more but I have forgotten a lot of the details. Let me put it this way. It is a far, far superior contract to the current deal that I live under at Continental Airlines.

Well on the first of the year Comair is supposed to snap back to the regualr rate. Unfortunately with today's events, that might not happen.
