0.2 for every cloud you fly through? ;)

If I am not flying full time ( for a job since I am in a grad school) but have 135 time and the rest.... Will EXJ even look at me? Rumors on Aviationinterviews.com say that you MUST have a full-time flying job? Also, where can I find the min times etc on the website without applying for the job, I can't find it!

Thanks all

Justino

Yes, fulltime job seems to be preferred. Otherwise you are not serious about flying. That's what I and some other guys were told. That too should be part of the pre-interview process, before they fly your a$$ out there.

Yeah I guess it is like riding a bike, I forget how to do it after a few months!!!!! O well.... hahahahahaha

Thanks

If they are so hard up for pilots...lowering mins to what I consider kinda scarey....why does it take 60-90 days for them to call to set up an interview?????
I ma really scratching my head on that one....sheesh....duh if you nedd pilots then get them in ASAP to interview and perhaps hire????

Where did u find the xjet times on the webpage?
I saw the times when I was applying. I don't believe it shows up elsewhere on the website. It's a "secret" because it changes so much.

When you go thru the application there are yes/no answers to the questions they ask about your flight time and qualifications. They specifically ask if you have 600 TT, 100 multi, 20 hours actual, and 30 hours flown in the last 6 months. Then at the end it says they will contact you in 60-90 days.

Ok thanks! 30 in the last 60!! I can do that! But about the flying job..... I cant do that cause well no one was hiring! hahah

Have a good one!

did they let you go through the whole first part; or did they boot you right away???

I sat through the presentation on the company, but didn't get to the interview itself. Got booted after the break, along with a guy who's currently flying for Colgan.

I was surprised when I bumped into my buddy Don on my way back to the classroom. Lost touch with him after Airline Training Academy went belly-up. He was in ground school at XJT and spoke very highly of the people and program. He's a good guy who would have let me know if there were problems.

What was the reason for getting the BOOT?
I had 32.6 hrs of Actual IFR instead of 37.5. Dawn very professionally explained the problem, told me to get more Actual IFR time, then reapply. Getting "the BOOT" wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! I'm looking forward to reapplying.

Ahh how things change. A friend of mine got hired pre-911 by 1 year with 2 hours of actual IFR. Always a moving target...

I love this guy

I have a lot of sympathy for the captains (especially Mcpickle)that have to babysit these 600hr wunderdummies. 37.5hrs actuall?? Better pray the A/P doesn't crap out when it's their leg.

So, I have to ask, at what amount of time do pilots transform from "wunderdummies" to competent pilots? 1,000? 3,000? 5,000? When the clock roles over a certain amount do they go instantly from idiots to good sticks?

During 5,840 hours of flight engineer time, I witnessed several pilots who by the standards implied here were highly qualified, but through direct observation of their performance couldn't fly their way out of a paper bag (thank God we weren't flying single pilot) and were a smoking hole waiting to happen.

I think there is too much emphasis on quantity of hours flown and not QUALITY. Isn't that the point of the interview (sim ride) process?
