its apparent that xjt is trouble finding new hires, rumors from the front are its due to a contract problems.

With a strike coming up to the front, its easier to go elsewhere until this thing is settled. But again this is the internet and this is a rumor board.

Considering they have been turning away more pilots than they have been hiring (from what I understand about 85% of applicants are unsuccessful--I may be wrong with that percentage), I doubt it is due to the negotiations. It is probably more due to the fact that many applicants seem to be coming in with logbooks full of bogus time (like SIC in a Cherokee? Please.) or a lack of required currency.

The minimums are 1,000 TT with 200 Multi. There are some actual instrument and recency of experience requirements also, but I can't remember what they are.

some dude really had SIC in a cherokee?
Some people would log flight time for the 3 second fall down the TOWER of TERROR at Disney World. "Well its more than 0, so we'll call it .1, and I was...PIC. Wonder what type aircraft I should put this under? Maybe I can start a thread on flightinfo.com and ask."

If they were the same as a month or so ago, recency requirements are 60 hours in the past 6 months. Also, there is a requirement for 37 hours of actual instrument time.

The actual IR requirement is 37.5, bizarre..I got canned when the HR person called to book an interview and went through my times on the phone. I don't know why they didn't list that as a requirement earlier in the process, prior to reading the cabin announcement over the phone..

I just interview on 31 August and they said that their mins just lowered to 600TT and 100 multi. Out of 11 people that day, they hired 3. Good Luck. I think it is great that they are very selective, but it can get to be a delicate situation as well.

Poor Richard says:

If it's a job at Expressjet you seek,
thou only should wait for a few more weeks.
Hourly minimums will go so low,
That NO ONE will be below
and you'll only have yourself with whom to compete.

Sincerely,

B. Franklin

Oh thats gonna be fun. Hurling through the sky in a whistleing sh1tcan of death with a 600 hour gee wiz.

They practically came out and told me back in april that I didn't have enough instrument time (only had around 35 actual) hopefully they will take my newly earned 76 ours of actual....

well see

They sent me home to get more actual, too. Note that the current minimum is now 40 hours of actual. Don't know the other mins, but that one I know for sure.

I just looked on the website....they want 600-100 and 20 hours of actual instrument time, as well as 30 hours of flying in the last 6 months. It changed again!

What urks me is that they had me go through the whole thing and then told me I didn't have enough actual IFR time...I am definatly going to interview again due to the great impression Dawn gave me as to the proffesionals that are employed at ExpressJet

I find this nearly unbelievable... XJ can't REALLY be having this much trouble finding qualified and/or worthwhile applicants??

In THIS environment they've actually DROPPED their mins? I'd think the requirements would've gone the other direction... Surely there are enough 1500+ hour people to make THAT the minimum??
Beuller?
