XJT will be doing interviews the second half of January. Expect 300 or more pilots to be hired.. If you made it through the second interview, you will be called after the 13th. Alot of applicants are out there waiting so .... be patient!!

What a wanker HR department.

Sounds like the old adversarial interview process is alive and well at XJT.

These interviewers need to put down the hand lotion and get a life.

5 ou of 5 people I know had negative interview experiences at XJT. Four of them got the job. I didn't apply, in case you're wondering.

Anybody knows what is going on at XJT now? I haven't heard anything new about them. I am still waiting for them to get back to me.

Happy flying

got the call on....
January 1st at 11:00AM!!!!
I was sleeping so I took me completely unprepared.
I was asked:
1)What would you tell a pax who is irritated by a hard landing?
2)How would you provide Xjet with high quality service?
3)What would you do if there were CBs forecasted at destination?
4)Right now, Xjet upgrade time would be anywhere from 3/4 years, is this a problem?

I was told a recruiter would contact me within 60-90 days.

I have not received any rejection letter so far.

Looks like a good place to work IF you pass their grilling interview process.

3-4 year upgrade?

Beware that whoever told you you'll upgrade in 4 years is smoking some pretty strong crack. With an Enhanced Flow-Thru in our next contract maybe you will be able to upgrade in a 5 or 6 year timeframe if you are lucky. Without the EFTA expect 10 years or more as an RJ FO, not a plus if you are looking at going to a major someday. Where do I get my assumptions from?

1. We will be the highest compensated 50 seat pilots in the industry. By the time CAL or anyone else starts hiring again the top half of the captain's list will be on 10-12 year pay scale. Most of the CA's I fly with will probably stay without a flo thru because the furlough risk is too great anywhere other than CAL. The first new hires will have seniority #s around 2550-2600, which will put you about 1200 spots away from upgrade. Fall 2000 hires will be lucky to upgrade in the '05-06 timeframe.

2. No growth after 2006. After we get our last jet, I will be very surprised to see any more expansion. The industry trend is to award new flying to sky whores like Mesa or CHQ who are willing to work for slave wages until 2010. We will not settle for such a disgraceful contract and thus will suffer the resulting lack of growth.

3. Less than 80 retirements in the next 10 years.

If you want a regional career then Coex is the place to be. Senior FO pay will be close to CA pay at the bottom feeders and quality of life will be much better. The people here are great and management is less adversarial than most places. Good luck!

You're an a$$. I'm so sick of you people thinking you're saving the industry. Our contract was a huge improvement on what we had. We could only take small steps to acheive what we did. The next one will improve again. I'm also really sick of seeing CHQ in the same sentence as Mesa. "Sky-whores" my arse. We improved on what we had and shut down the alter-ego being held over our heads.

Ya...you'll "suffer the resulting lack of growth". Ohhh....such a martyr for us all....thank you sooo much. You're a real hero.

Nice contract you got....enjoy those flowbacks.

I would agree with many of the posts on here. This whole process seems silly. But I don't have the benefit of being on the inside of the training dept knowing what they want to accomplish with these random phone calls.

I will say this: If this process doesn't work it will be changed, period. Unfortunately everyone will have to wait a couple months to see how the first new hires in over 2 years do during training. Once the first folks are finished with their training and the training dept has a chance to evaluate their performance then maybe they'll stick with this process and maybe not.

Does anyone know if you can re-apply right away?

FWIW: I interviewed with JD and yes it was very "good cop, bad cop" but I never thought he was out of line. He just pushed people's buttons to see how they'd take it. Some took it worse than others.

Fine, my apologies for lumping the CHQ pilots in with Mesa. I suppose if it wasn't for their contract and the resulting concessions forced on Wiskey and ACA you guys would have done better. Still, $34K a year max FO pay for a 90 seat jet (read DC-9) at the end of the decade? You've got to be sh!tting me! Nice job on block or better and holiday pay though, I'll give you that.
