Does anyone have any information as to why XJT would have such low hiring minimums? Especially with the anticipated improvements in the contract and the stability of their parent company, it would seem that they could get pilots with more experience.

I was just picked up by XJT and they there were plenty of high-time pilots at the interview. I'd say 75% of the applicants had over 1500 hrs and prior 121 experience, some of them in mainline-sized equipment. However, almost all the guys that got hired, me included seemed to have less than 1200 hrs and no turbine or 121 experience .

I think XJET is looking for people who will stay with the company for the long haul, not someone who is going to jump ship to the majors after a year or two. Just an ignorant low-time newbie's speculation.....

Looking for some advice; I have a interview @ the end of this month and I am wondering how an incident will effect my chances for employment at Xjet. Happend over a year ago...

I can almost guarantee you that they will ask if you have any accidents/incidents on your record and if you've ever failed a checkride. They will then ask you to describe what happened, what you learned from it, etc. This will come in the HR (final) portion of the interview.

As far as whether or not it disqualifies you, that probably depends on the nature of the incident, how long ago it occured in relation to all the flying you've done and a few other factors. I don't think they'll throw you out as soon as they find out about it.

What type of flight time mins do I need to apply ( in the context of the last 6 months) I am in grad school and dont fly that much.

Sure, I have a current flying job, I am now self employed and take my friends flying for 50$ ! Hahaha Does that cut if for HR? O well ! Why do I want to sit right seat for 5 years anyway!

All in humor folks, don't take the message to heart!

What are the odds that there minimums would be lowered below 1000 hours? If not, would there be any exceptions. i.e., throwing bags, working in the offices.

The mins already are below 1000 hrs. They are:

600 total time
100 multi
20 actual

I had 850 total and 150 multi when I was offered employment yesterday and had NO inside connections to the company.

Have any been hired with the actualy mins? How did they do in training?

I just found out that one of the guys I interviewed with who had 750 hrs also got hired yesterday. He was an ATP instructor so about 650 hrs of that was multi. Don't know how the low time guys are doing in the training but I plan on busting my ass, memorizing all the flows, profiles, and limitations before I show up for class on the 25th. I'll let you know when I get through....

Congrats man, all the best for training. And GOD I can't wait for the day when people judge pilots on their flying skills rather than their total time. Good for you.
