says his 1 Dec voice mail. Mid Nov voice mail said something like 225 new hires in first quarter 2005. When are they going to buy CAL?

The 1255 number includes FA's, CSA's, administrative support, etc. Pilot hiring numbers for 2005 are expected to be about 500.

Five Hundred new hires is still an awful lot. I think Jim has got some plans up his sleeve. Hopefully we get the LAX base so all you west commuters senior to me will get out of town. Upgrading 64 in January as well. The training center is going to be a zoo for crying out loud.

The numbers at express are not a big mystery. In 2005 we will lose the last 60-80 flow backs. The 113 pilots left over from the old flow through. Plus 189-242 pref interview(the number depends how many pass their second chance at the sim).

You add that up and 435 pilots could leave for CAL in 2005 and early 2006. Plus ExpressJet has another 30 or so airplanes to be delivered. Which would equal another 240 pilots.

That would mean by the middle of 2006 that would ExpressJet would need to hire approx. 675 pilots with our current fleet plan.

Pleas tell me there are more of those guys left here!! My seniority is at least 100 numbers junior than when I was hired.

They have been pushed out the door as fast as CAL will take them. We are getting close to the 100 number left. After the 38 went this month.
