I'm set for an interview next week with ExpressJet. I have the multi-time they want, however, I haven't flown a twin for about 3 1/2 months, even though I have 85 hours in the last year. My question is should I buy a few (~10) hours before the interview to be safe-knowing it won't get me the job for sure but will get me into more debt, or just go for it as my time stands. Any info is appreciated.

From what the folks I know who work there tell me, they want you to be flying a twin now.. Not, "I flew a twin for 200hrs last year" type thing. The guy who told me this is an instructor in the training dept.

If you have 85 hours multi in the last year, that will be more than acceptable.

I was in a worse situation than you are in 9 years ago when I went to the interview at coex. I had 3,000 total and only 360 of it multi and no multi in the past 2 years, because I was flying a dakota for a lumber company. I guess I got lucky because I still got the job, their only request was for me to go out and get 10 hours of multi before I went to training which I did, but looking back on it now it probably didn't really help me all that much with the training. It just further depleted my bank account. If you have 85 hours in the past year I would say that you're set. Good luck to you. Oh and if you get the job plan on being broke. Again good luck.

I know this may sound like a repeat of the above question. But i have about 300 turbine multi in the past 9 months. I interviewed in Sept I have only flown about 20 hours since in a light twin and plan to re-apply at the end of NOV. What do you guys think my chance is for getting a call to come back let alone be offered the job. (did'nt get it last time changed my answers a few times they were'nt pleased)first interview jitters. Any insight would help. Thanks

I decided to go out and rent a twin in order to at least get current. I got about two hours in it, and more importantly got an IPC and a BFR. Hopefully this looks like I made an effort to prepare for possible training and they will look favorably on it.
