Does anyone know what is going on with seniority #'s at Mesaba? Two months ago I ahd a better # than I do today. Crewtrack, my furlough "award" and my monthly bid all have different numbers. The best being the oldest one out there!
Unless planning screwed up the seniority numbers on the "award", the only way that this could happen is if people were hired in above me - obviously not the case.

Any ideas????

It's not just you.

I know of several other people that have brought this up with no clear explaination. I wonder what's happening. It doesn't make any sense.

Don't instructors keep their number while they are full time?
Don't guys on FMLA/MIL/MED leave still keep their numbers?

The only way I can see our numbers changing like that is if they are hiring guys above us but that doesn't make sense.

Maybe Captain-Special Ed decided that his seniority number should be the top 25 numbers.

Cya,

I was told by a union rep that seniority numbers are only official if they come from the seniority list. Ignore the numbers that are on the bid packs. Just be sure that some one junior to does not get what you bid for.

Where's that?

So, here's a stupid question: Where's the most current Seniority List? I don't know why it would matter right now but I've been asked it before.

CP

yea there is an UNOFFICIAL list on ALPA dated in December, but again that is UNOFFICIAL and I know at least 2 names on it no longer with us here so it's not current now either....

Exodus

I know we have had a BUNCH of pilots go on to other places; from senior CA, junior CA to junior FO's. It be nice to know exactly what numbers we're looking at in case they pull another furlough threat on us.

Just curious, YPF, how would you know about Mesaba when you're at Northwest??? Former XJ'er??? And now that our January packets are out, mysteriously, no list!

I was told that Planning, aka EW, only has to put out a seniority list when a bid award is in the future. Since we haven't had a "new" one of those in a while, hence no list.

I have copies of almost all contracts between NWA and it's partners including the pilot contracts for XJ/9E/Champion.

Mesaba CBA Section 22:

C. Pilots’ System Seniority List

1. The Company shall post the Pilots’ System Seniority List on its bulletin board in each pilot domicile and on the Company web site. Said list shall contain the names of all pilots entitled to seniority, whether active or inactive, and the date of hire of each pilot indicating the seniority to which each pilot is entitled and each pilot’s birth date. Such list shall be brought up to date as of January 1 and July 1 of each year and posted within thirty (30) days thereafter. In addition, the seniority list (including the pilots’ current positions) will be updated and posted with each vacancy notice in each pilot domicile and on the Company web site. The Company will concurrently post an advisory summary of the changes to each seniority list. The summary will reflect all changes in any pilot’s relative placement on the list.

2. A pilot shall be permitted a period of sixty (60) days after the posting of each list in which to protest in writing to the Manager of Crew Planning any omission or incorrect positioning affecting said pilot's individual seniority. A pilot who makes a protest within the first thirty (30) days after the posting shall be entitled to be made whole for all losses suffered, if the pilot prevails. A pilot who makes a protest between thirty-one (31) and sixty (60) days after the posting will have his relative position on the list adjusted, if the pilot prevails, but will not be entitled to other remedy. Errors on the advisory summary shall not be the subject of a protest.

3. A pilot may protest a subsequent Pilots’ System Seniority List only if it varies from the one immediately preceding it, except:

a. when the previous list(s) has been posted within sixty (60) days; or

b. when such list is later changed because of the filing of a subsequent protest or protests by any pilot or pilots on said list, in which case the pilot shall be permitted to file an additional protest.
