Now that we are a wholly owned of a wholly owned, I would have expected some kind of message from our management. I do not believe for half a second that they did not know that this was coming, and even a simple - "We understand that you have questions and ask for your patience. We will keep you informed and promise to look after our business, customers, and employees" - would have let us know that at least they aren't asleep at the wheel again.

Instead, we get just what we expect from these jokers: Dead silence.

They should have had something up on the webboard within minutes of last night's announcement. At least to let us know they are awake and aware. Of, course, once again Mesaba management proves they are neither.

It's still early. *****And despite the fact that they may have known it was coming, they still don't know what's gonna happen to us. *****In any case, I don't think the changes will happen overnight. (Although the merger did.) It's gonna take a long time for the deal to even be approved. *****

Yes, I understand that it is still early. However, Delta already has their new lobbying website up and running.

All I am asking for is a simple announcement that they acknowledge the foundation of our employment (in a very tough economy) has changed and they will keep open communications with us. They don't need to lay out any plans or strategies, just let us know that they aren't asleep, and aren't about to sell us down the river.

I mean, c'mon, was Spanjers watching "American Idol", and missed the big announcement?

With us wholly owned now, I don't see why our management wouldn't have close communications with Steenland.

We're paying these guys a lot of money (and yes, with our pay cuts still in effect, I consider us to be paying them) to be leaders, it would be great to see them BE leaders.

The merger is still a proposal subject to review, modification, approval, and implementation. NWA does not belong to Delta, yet.

Yes, again, understood.

However, the basis for our employment and job security has just changed, nonetheless. The news is full of gigantic headlines which announce a major shift in our employment environment. A little up-to-date acknowledgement of the current news from our management is not too much to ask for.

(I can't edit the first post anymore...)

Here we go : Now that we are proposed to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of a soon-to-be-wholly-owned subsidiary.....etc.

Yeah.....it will most likely suck for everyone. We've just come to expect the lack of leadership from our management group though.

XJohXJ Im also in agreement with you. I was just on mymesaba (employee website) and nothing was mentioned about the merger. But what can you expect when Spanjers Friday news update comes out the following week and sometimes not at all. I guess they just run a few days behind at what it supposed to be a 24/7 365 operation. Even a little bit of communication to state the obvious goes a long way with employees.

Comair had it up on their employee site last night, and this morning there was a memo from the president. We are usually the last to know about anything.

Pinnacle has a conference call today at 2PM.

But, why do we want any comunication from mesaba, pinnacle, comair, or any other management. It is just going to be lies and half truths anyway.

Let's see, they are working out a deal worth billions, 80,000 employes, over 800 aircraft, the aniti trust dept, and your wondering why Anderson or Steenland hasn't called up Spangers to let him know where our 49 Saabs and small fleet of CRJ's fit into their grand plane...

Don't take this the wrong way but we are NOT that important...

Yeah, no sh!t. My point with the sentence which you took out of context is that I do not believe for one second that our management was caught off guard by the announcement last night. I am quite sure that no one has any idea what will happen with our fleet yet. However, the merger can not have been a surprise. Our management should have the minimal competence to at least have a statement ready.

I'm not asking for the grand plan, nor anything like it. I'd only like a simple acknowledgement from our management team that something significant is happening.

Sorry JS just rolled up all his loose change and took it to the bank... you are going to have to wait a couple weeks for his supply to rebuild before speaking again.

There will definitely be cuts...and they already know who will be eliminated. Nothing new from NWA. Delta will control all of this in the end, and that is not good either.

They're still trying to figure out how much of a paycut we have to take to retain flying in the new competitive arena. LOL

Not One Dime!

Well, the letter is up now on MyMesaba. Better late than never.

Rant over.

Now we'll see what the future brings.
Good luck to all.

I expect delta to terminate the 900 agreement with mesa and give those aircraft to either XJ or 9E. Most likely 9E in exchange for parking 200's.

For all of us that returned from furlough last April, at least we got to see what a good year at XJ was like.
